Merscom today announced Black Circle, a new adventure game in the Carol Reed series developed by MDNA Games. In Black Circle: A Carol Reed Mystery, as summer arrives, English private detective Carol Reed is asked by a neighbor to look into the discovery of a dead body that mysteriously disappears. Carol must discover scattered clues and interview suspects and helpful residents to get to the bottom of this stranger's death. A set of screenshots has been added in our gallery.

ALD-ZG Licenses ByteShield's DRM Solution

ByteShield today announced that ByteShield DRM has been selected and implemented by games distributor ALD-ZG of Croatia to protect 25 games from publishers Alawar Entertainment, Brighter Minds Media and Cateia Games. Many more games from these and other publishers are being implemented. ByteShield's account based copy protection model enables users to run games on multiple computers without limiting their ability to use the product they purchased, making it safe, transparent and non-invasive to customers. Its Binary Separation disables the software until a legitimate user activates the software, subsequently; the license follows the user from computer to computer.

Paradox Interactive has released a new video for Mount & Blade: Warband, showcasing this Mount & Blade multiplayer expansion developed by TaleWorlds Entertainment and scheduled for March 19th. Mount & Blade: Warband will include improved strategic AI, extended diplomatic options, state-of the-art rendering technologies, including the addition of High Dynamic Range (HDR), as well as the ability for 32 players to play on a single map in team death-match style battles.

EverQuest II Battlegrounds Announced and Trailer/Screens

On February 16, 2010, battlegrounds will be introduced to EverQuest II as a complimentary addition for current EQII subscribers with characters level 80-90, Sony Online Entertainment announced. Battlegrounds allow players to engage in PvP battle against their friends or foes, regardless of server, and provide group-based, competitive matches in three all-new zones. Participants can quickly join the action in three different types of matches, with up to 48 players total. Additionally, EverQuest II players who login between February 16, 2010 and February 18, 2010 receive the Warrior of Chaos statue (press 'read more' for details). A movie and several screenshots have been added in our download area.

NCsoft has announced a new Lineage II free trial program which features a hassle-free (no credit card required) sign-up and provides players the ability to quest their way to level 40 with up to three characters, giving players a chance to explore multiple kingdoms of Aden as well as dabble in the game's 36 character classes. A player's progress beyond the 14-day trial period will be saved and is reactivated when they decide to purchase a retail copy of the game.

Aliens vs. Predator Multiplayer Demo Trailer

SEGA has released a new movie for the FPS action horror game Aliens vs. Predator, scheduled to be available in February 2010, for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360. Developed by Rebellion, the team responsible for the original 1999 classic, the new Aliens vs. Predator game will offers players the chance to take the role of the three infamous species; the Colonial Marine, the Predator and the Alien. Each of the three species has its very own distinct story-driven single-player campaign mode that interweaves with the campaigns of the other two species. Aliens vs. Predator will also feature unique 3-way online multiplayer, allowing gamers to pit the three species against each other in the ultimate battle for survival and for the right to be crowned the deadliest species.
