Cold War (XBox/PC) E3 2005 Hands-On Quick Preview - ( Review, Preview, Article, Interview, Q&A )

Cold War is being published by Dreamcatcher and is a stealth action game. You play a reporter that was sent to the USSR and is set in 1985. You are captured and jailed where you later escape and retrieve your x-ray camera. This camera is the most important item in the game.

With the camera you can see through walls, to a certain distance, and shoot a pulse of energy to either knock out a unit or blow up a fire extinguisher. Your camera only has a few shots so use them wisely.

Cold War offers a 3rd person view or over the shoulder view if youre aiming. It also offers about 20-30 hours of gameplay and is developed for the Xbox and PC.

The coolest feature is the ability to use objects to create new objects. You can combine your gun with a bottle to create a silencer. Or you can use a slingshot and some grenades to lob them at the enemy. There are a lot of possibilities and should keep gamers happy. Since the game focuses on stealth and action you dont always have to run and gun. In fact, if you save your ammo it is carried over to the next mission so if you do a lot of stealth and collect ammo it could save you time near the end of the game.

The game is due out in fall 2005.
