Company: Activision
SAN FRANCISCO, Nov. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Hands-On Mobile, Inc., the world's leading developer of connected games and applications, in partnership with Activision, Inc. (Nasdaq: ATVI - News), today announced that the wildly popular franchise, Guitar Hero®, will be available on mobile devices holiday season. The game will feature a unique content delivery model that will provide subscribers with new songs every month.
Delivering the franchise's signature easy to play, difficult to master gameplay, the game will challenge players to hit number keys on the handset in synch with colored notes that appear on a scrolling fret board. Guitar Hero for mobile will feature songs from across the console series, along with original master tracks. With 15 songs instantly accessible upon purchase and new playable tracks available each month, cell phone rockers can grow their set list to over 50 songs. Fans will have the opportunity to choose from their favorite Guitar Hero characters and play in three killer venues, along with shredding on four authentic guitars to legendary tracks such as:

-- "Cherub Rock" (by Smashing Pumpkins)
-- "Hit Me With Your Best Shot" (as made famous by Pat Benetar)
-- "Paranoid" (as made famous by Black Sabbath)
-- "Woman" (as made famous by Wolfmother)
-- "You Really Got Me" (as made famous by Van Halen)

"Guitar Hero for mobile will simply rock," said Michael Temkin, Chief Technology Officer and EVP Operations, Hands-On Mobile. "With an innovative way to get new songs and great mobile gameplay, this is a game people will play again and again."

"Where there's music, there's Guitar Hero, and having Hands-On Mobile bring this franchise onto mobile platforms will now allow our dedicated fans the opportunity to passionately feel the music, anytime anywhere," said Dusty Welch, head of publishing at Activision/RedOctane.
