NEW YORK, Feb. 22 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Atari, Inc. (Nasdaq: ATAR - News) announced today that Tycoon City(TM): New York, the PC game that challenges players to build the business empire of their dreams and "make it big" in Manhattan, has shipped to stores nationwide. In Tycoon City: New York, players aim to become moguls by constructing and customizing hundreds of businesses in a bustling and realistic simulation of New York City. Players must create and improve their businesses to outclass the competition and become rich and famous in New York City. Developed by Deep Red Games, Tycoon City: New York is rated "T" for Teen.

"Tycoon City: New York City gives everyone the opportunity to make the Big Apple their own playground," said Matt Collins, Director of Brand Marketing, Atari, Inc. "Whether it is running a nightclub, constructing a skyscraper, or overseeing a Broadway production, Tycoon City: New York offers the most authentic NYC experience out there."

Recreated in highly detailed 3D imagery and featuring famous landmarks such as the Statue of Liberty, the Empire State Building and Times Square, Tycoon City: New York offers players a realistic simulation of the city that never sleeps. Over two dozen in-game partners, including TIME Magazine, Marquee, Nokia and Tag Heuer, to name a few, lend the game added realism. As a result of the partnership with TIME Magazine, players that reach the top of their game will see their likeness promoted on virtual TIME Magazine covers.

In Tycoon City: New York, players start from humble beginnings as a budding entrepreneur and build a Manhattan empire by creating, upgrading, and customizing more than 100 types of major businesses based on the needs of real New Yorkers in the game. Some challenges include overseeing a media conglomerate, owning a hot new restaurant and managing a Wall Street financial firm. High-profile industries, real-world brands and a bustling round-the- clock lifestyle give every player the chance to make it. All of these challenges take place in authentic New York neighborhoods like the East Village, Chelsea and Greenwich Village.
