Members of the Visual Effects Society have announced the nominees for their annual awards. A nomination in the category of Outstanding Pre-Rendered Visuals in a Video Game was given to Polish artists Tomasz Bagiñski, Marcin Kobylecki, Grzegorz Kukuœ and Maciek Jackiewicz from Platige Image for "The Witcher" Cinematic Intro.
Work on the game cinematic intro at Platige Image lasted for a year. The director, Tomasz Bagiñski, worked together with a team of about 20 people.
The Visual Effects Society (VES) is an organization awarding prizes for effects in all spheres of the entertainment industry: film, television, commercials, music videos and video games. Currently the society consists of about 1500 members from 17 countries.
"The Witcher", created by Polish studio CD Projekt RED based on the writings of Andrzej Sapkowski, is a bestselling role-playing game already immensely popular in Poland and abroad. Currently "The Witcher" is conquering the world game market gaining numerous prizes in the computer industry as well as high recognition from the media and fans.
