Los Angeles – June 12th, 2013 – After a long wait, PC gamers will finally get their shot with Lab Zero and Autumn Games’ critically-acclaimed fighting game, Skullgirls.
Published by Marvelous AQL and Autumn Games on PC, Skullgirls will be available for Windows® PC via leading digital distribution services on August 22nd, and pre-orders will open on August 1st. The PC version of Skullgirls will be available for download through GameFly, GamersGate, GameStop PC Downloads, OriginTM, and Steam.
The game that captivated thousands of casual and hardcore fighting fans has been further enhanced for its release on the PC, with best-in-class multiplayer support with GGPO and Steamworks. First and foremost among these enhancements is the addition of Lobby Play, featuring the innovative “All Play” which allows for multiple simultaneous fights within a lobby, reducing waiting to a minimum. Other additions include spectator mode, an art gallery and Steam trading card support.
Players that pre-order Skullgirls on PC will receive the Character Color Pack, featuring 5 new color palettes for each of the game’s eight core characters as well as beta access. The beta is meant to do more than give players a head start - the beta will be maintained in the long term so that players can try out and provide feedback on new characters and experimental balance changes.
Thanks to Lab Zero Games’ wildly successful Indiegogo campaign, PC players will also have access to five free DLC characters, keeping the game fresh with additions for at least a year. Each character will be released individually and will be free for 3 months, after which their price will increase to $5.
Skullgirls puts players in control of fierce female warriors in an extraordinary Dark Deco world. Fighters battle it out for control of a mysterious artifact known as the Skull Heart, which has the power to grant the victor’s wishes. Those judged impure are transformed into the fearful instrument of their twisted wish, the Skullgirl.
