January 22nd, 2013 - SANTA ANA - Cadenza Interactive, the studio behind 2011’s Sol Survivor on Steam and Xbox LIVE Indie Games today announces the Steam release date of January 31st, 2013 for its sophomore title, Retrovirus. Retrovirus has been in development for two and a half years.
Retrovirus is a “six-axis” (6DoF) shooter, offering players unique combat and exploratory experiences inside Retrovirus’ stylized computer world. Players take on the role of the anti-virus “Agent”, and are tasked with seeking out and destroying an invasive virus. Fast paced combat and a five hour story-driven campaign await, alongside co-operative campaign play and challenge modes. Retrovirus’ world is colored by dynamic lighting, viral infestations and a robust decision-based AI for friends and foes alike. Competitive multiplayer modes include staples like Deathmatch and Team Deathmatch, as well as objective based modes like FPS MOBA (PvPvE) and Domination.
Retrovirus draws design inspiration from late 90’s classics, like the Quake and Unreal series, as well as Descent and Forsaken. The campaign is fully voiced, including acting from Zen Josey and IPL eSports broadcaster Kevin Knocke.
Cadenza Interactive is an independent PC development studio based in Santa Ana, California.
