UFO: Afterlight Release Date Announcement

Building on the gameplay, tactics and storyline established in UFO: Aftermath and, more recently, UFO: Aftershock, the forthcoming UFO: Afterlight introduces an important collection of new features whilst developing upon its proven qualities.
As in the UFO prequels, UFO: Afterlight is a mixture of squad based tactical action and global strategy. The player takes a commanding role, controlling the actions of elite ground troops, as well as the general directing, resource collecting and overall expansion of the home base.
While retaining the basic game mechanics that stay true to those of UFO: Aftershock, there are many additions and improvements in both the strategic and tactical elements of UFO: Afterlight. The action takes place on the planet Mars, bringing with it new threats and enemies. There is a wide scope for researching extensive technologies, manufacturing advanced weapons, and even changing planet conditions. All of this, plus smart scripting, a fresh graphical look and feel, a strong focus on RPG, and a deeper insight to the evolving storyline makes the game a unique challenge in mankind’s battle for survival.
Releasing through Ascaron Entertainment in the UK, UFO: Afterlight (PC DVD-ROM) is due to hit retail shelves on 23rd February 2007.
