Charity Gamers Host Toys For Tots Tournament
The organization known as Charity Gamers is, at the end of December, hosting a Toys For Tots tournament. Charity Gamers is a group of gamers that host and participate tournaments that benefit charities. This is accomplished by charging a small fee for entrance that is then donated to said charity. Their most recent events benefited the fight against cancer and Multiple Sclerosis. All money raised from CG tournaments and events is donated directly to the charities.
The upcoming tournament CG is hosting will be benefiting the Marine Toys For Tots Foundation. This foundation began supported the Toys for Tots program in 1991. Since then, they have received over 64.5 million toys, which have all been given to children of poor families who cannot afford to give their children toys for Christmas. It is a not-for-profit charity, and, is governed by a board of 11 successful businessmen who all served as Marines.
The tournament will be taking place on Halo 3, and will be over Xbox LIVE. It is a 2v2 with MLG Rules and prizes. There is a $20 registration fee per team. The date shall be December 20, 2008, and the time is TBA. Registration opens November, 25, 2008.
