Operation Flashpoint®: Red River™ Co-Op Gameplay Developer Diary Released
Company: Codemasters
LOS ANGELES – April 19, 2011 – Today Codemasters® released the latest developer diary video for Operation Flashpoint®: Red River™, the all-new chapter in the multi-million selling tactical shooter series. Focusing on the game’s four player co-operative campaign and Fireteam Engagements, the video is now showing at www.facebook.com/flashpointredriver. Operation Flashpoint: Red River will launch on June 7, 2011 in North America.

The video includes gameplay footage taken from the multiplayer modes in the game and features key development team talent explaining how Operation Flashpoint: Red River has been completely designed around drop-in, drop-out co-operative play. Players come together in four key specialist roles to form a US Marine Fireteam – Rifleman, Automatic Rifleman, Scout and Grenadier. These complimentary roles allow players to become a highly effective fighting unit as they play through the game’s extensive campaign or rise up the leaderboards in the game’s four standalone Fireteam Engagement modes.

“The online experience in Red River is core to our DNA and we’ve improved it by focusing on 4 player co-op. You can join in any time with your buddies and basically kick some ass,” said Adam Parsons, Executive Producer.

“For me it’s very much the thinking man’s shooter. It’s all about the decisions you make,” said Sion Lenton, Creative Director. “We don’t lead you by the hand through the levels. It’s up to the player to decide how they’re going to get the best out of that level. It’s all about co-op, it’s all about team play, it’s all about communication and giving the players the tools and the options they need to have an awful lot of fun.”

Operation Flashpoint: Red River will set a new standard for authentic and intense tactical combat when it launches on Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft®, PLAYSTATION®3 computer entertainment system and Games For Windows® LIVE. Set to deliver an authentic and intensely personal infantry experience, Operation Flashpoint: Red River invites players to enlist as one of the four members of a US Marine Corps fireteam and fight through a substantial campaign mode and standalone. Fireteam Engagements. Up to four players can enjoy the unique Operation Flashpoint experience across all game modes with seamless drop-in drop-out co-operative play. Whether playing solo or co-operatively, players can build up XP across all modes to unlock weapons, skills and modifications for their class, customizing their loadouts to suit their preferred style of play.
