EA and Lionhead Descend onto Store Shelves With Black & White 2 for the PC
REDWOOD CITY, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 4, 2005--Will you be an evil or benevolent deity? Electronic Arts (Nasdaq:ERTS - News) and Lionhead Studios today announced that Black & White® 2 has begun to ship to retail outlets for the PC. From the creative minds of god game developer Peter Molyneux and RTS-creator Ron Millar, Black & White 2 is the sequel to the critically acclaimed hit Black & White®.

"Everyone at Lionhead is very proud of what they have achieved with Black & White 2 -- it is a monumental task these days to complete a mass market game. I'd like to thank the whole team for all their hard work and EA for their support," said Peter Molyneux, Managing Director, Lionhead Studios.

In Black & White 2, players reprise the role of a powerful deity in search of a following and return to the once idyllic world of Eden, where the discovery of weaponry and warfare has tainted the beautiful landscape. With the help of a player's gigantic Creature that is raised from infancy, players must earn the respect and worship of the natives. How a player chooses to do that, whether through nurturing them or terrorising them, is up to each individual.

Black & White 2 includes new elements, such as improved graphics and miracle effects including rivers of fire and earthquakes that yield massive destruction. Creatures in the game now learn strategies, master new abilities and skills, lead armies into battle and be the ultimate unit. Every choice made has an impact. Each action and inaction prompts obvious changes to buildings, flora and fauna, all morphing to reflect a player's personality.

Developed by UK-based Lionhead Studios, the creators of the original Black & White, Black & White 2 is rated "T" (Teen) by the ESRB and has an MSRP of $49.99. For more information about Black & White 2, please visit www.blackandwhite2.ea.com or EA's press website at http://www.info.ea.com.
