Guildford,UK, 15 April 2008 -- Chris Bullard from Ipswich, England, has won the UK’s FIFA Interactive World Cup Qualifier event to secure his place in the Grand Final in Berlin, Germany, on 24 May 2008. The UK Qualifier, which was held in Manchester, England, saw the best 16 players in the UK compete in a knockout tournament and culminated in Chris Bullard’s tense 4-3 victory against Adam Winster in the final.
Chris Bullard has won an all expenses paid trip to Berlin to join a total of 32 of the cream of interactive football talent competing for the title of FIFA Interactive World Player 2008 and the US$20,000 prize money. The winner of the Grand Final will attend the FIFA World Player Gala in December 2008 where he/she will have the chance to meet some of the world’s elite male and female footballers.
“I’m extremely proud to have won the UK qualifier event and it is an honour to represent my country in the Finals’” said Chris Bullard. ”I won the FIFA Interactive World Cup in 2005 and I hope I can repeat this achievement and bring home the trophy in 2008.”
The UK qualifier event is one of 20 live qualifier events taking place across the six continents between October 2007 and April 2008 culminating in the FIWC Grand Final in Berlin on 24 May 2008.
