LOS ANGELES, Calif., October 15, 2008 – The Casual Entertainment Label of Electronic Arts Inc. (NASDAQ:ERTS) provides tween girls with the ultimate superstar experience with this week’s release of Boogie™ SuperStar, exclusively for the Wii™. Boogie SuperStar shipped on October 14 in North America and Canada, and will be available October 16 in Asia and October 17 in Europe. Girls around the world will have a blast singing and dancing their way to stardom, performing today’s hottest music hits.
“Boogie SuperStar provides girls worldwide with a gaming experience that is truly for them,” said Russell Arons, Vice President of Marketing, EA Casual Entertainment. “We listened to what girls wanted in a music game and aimed to provide those elements with Boogie SuperStar including total character customization, today’s most popular songs, engaging game play, and the ability to play with their friends.” Girls can rock out to Boogie SuperStar, performing real dance moves using the Wii Remote™ or singing their favorite songs into the microphone. They can select their favorite songs made famous by popular artists such as Natasha Bedingfield, the game’s featured spokesperson, as well as Rihanna, Fergie, Katy Perry, The Jonas Brothers, Maroon 5, Leona Lewis, Alicia Keys, Good Charlotte, Britney Spears, Kanye West, Emily Osment, Metro Station, and many more. In addition to the nearly 40 songs available on the North American version, more than 25 additional songs are available on the International version of the game, giving girls the choice to perform hit songs made famous by local European artists. In Boogie SuperStar, players are discovered by a team of judges and whisked away to a secret island, where they learn the coolest dance moves and show off their singing and dancing skills in the ultimate competition, the Boogie Star Show! Girls can perform with a friend, competing as a team in the Boogie Star Show, or, they can compete against one another with as many as four players. As girls improve and win Boogie Star Shows, they are able to unlock exciting treasures, such as new outfits, new dance moves, and more of their favorite songs, on the way to achieving SuperStar status! Developed at EA Montreal under the EA Casual Entertainment Label, Boogie SuperStar has a US MSRP of $59.99 and comes with a microphone included.
