COLUMBIA, SC – Sacred 2: Fallen Angel, the prequel to the wildly popular 2004 fantasy role playing game Sacred, will be heavily populated with the trees and plants of SpeedTree®RT, IDV and Ascaron Entertainment have announced.
“With Sacred 2, we have created incredibly beautiful, varied environments, full of wind-blown trees and fantastic plants and flowers,” said Kay Struve, Ascaron’s Technical Director. “SpeedTree’s extensive customization made it ideal as the choice for bringing our outdoor worlds to life.”
Sacred 2 takes place 2,000 years prior to the events in Sacred, when conflict over an energy source leads to chaos and destruction.
This is the third Ascaron project to feature SpeedTreeRT. Tortuga – Two Treasures and Anstoss 2007 also used SpeedTree. The level design and environments in Sacred 2 deliver a wealth of variation and incredible depth, delivering a whole new level of detail.
Sacred 2 is due out this month on PC, and early 2009 on next-generation consoles.
