SpeedTree® Chosen for Risen

COLUMBIA, SC – Risen, a medieval role-playing game set on a volcanic Mediterranean island, includes the trees and plants of SpeedTree®, officials announced today.
“We wanted to give players a completely believable and immersive gaming world,” said Michael Rueve, CEO of game developer Piranha Bytes. “So the natural beauty and realistic animation of SpeedTree was essential.”
Risen was released worldwide on October 2, 2009 on Windows® PC, and throughout Europe on the Xbox® 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft. The game, which is expected to be released for Xbox® 360 in North America early next year, is published by Deep Silver Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Koch Media.
