Hamburg, July 28, 2011. InnoGames announced today the upcoming launch of a new browser game: Lagoonia, which blends the charm of a sandbox game with exciting social interaction – all on a remote South Sea island. The focus of the browser game is on the relationships between characters and players. Moreover, players plan and create many things that make the island livable and fun: from a warm fire and a cozy shelter, to useful fish nets and rafts, and later in the game lighthouses and waterslides.
"In Lagoonia, you do not play against, but with each other. The mood and social relationships of the characters are in the forefront of the gameplay. The setting particularly breaks new ground for us: the scenario is reminiscent of Robinson Crusoe or Cast Away. This combination of gameplay and setting is what makes the game so special” explains Kathleen Kunze, Lagoonia’s game designer.
In addition to several screenshots on www.lagoonia.com, InnoGames has released a trailer for the game, which gives insight into the setting and the atmosphere of Lagoonia. The game will be playable for free and without anything to download. The only technical requirements are a browser and an internet connection. A German language Closed Beta is scheduled to begin late summer, with English soon to follow.
InnoGames, with more than 65 million registered players worldwide, is one of the world's leading developers and providers of online games. The German-based company has scored major success with games such as Tribal Wars, The West, and Grepolis.
