Killer Bee Software, maker of Empire Deluxe and The Perfect General, announced the title for it’s new Card-Based Space Strategy Computer Game, Galacticards.
In Galacticards, five players start out with a home world, some defensive ground units, and a hand of five cards with which they begin their struggle to become the largest species in space. Players use their cards to establish systems, build colonies, conduct research and mining operations, and defend against or attack the other players in the game.
Galacticards has no single winning strategy and players must be able roll with the punches from the hand they are dealt with, as well as the events dealt by other players.
“Galacticards will be a great little gameâ€, says Mark Kinkead, founder of Killer Bee Software. “It’s different and lighter than Empire Deluxe or The Perfect General, but still quite involving. It seems like you always want to play one more turn.â€
Galacticards will use the Torque 2D Engine, created by Garage Games and adapted by Killer Bee Software for Galacticards.
Galacticards is slated for a Fall/Winter ‘05 release for MAC, MS Windows and Linux.
Killer Bee Software has been making computer strategy games since 2002, when it acquired the rights to the classics “Empire Deluxe†and “The Perfect Generalâ€. It has released three strategy titles, “Empire Deluxe Internet Editionâ€, “The Perfect General Internet Editionâ€, and the recently released “Empire Deluxe Enhanced Editionâ€.
