SAN FRANCISCO, CA – October 31, 2006 – Amusement park aficionados are being asked to raise their hands and scream for American’s best theme park in a new Internet survey to find the ultimate real-life Thrillville.
From now until Nov. 15, LucasArts is celebrating the release of Thrillville – a nonstop party in a theme park you create – by asking theme-park enthusiasts to vote for their favorite of the 20 most-visited amusement parks in the United States.
In addition to determining the Best Overall Park, voters can voice their opinions on which location hosts the Sickest Roller Coaster, Best Midway Games, and is the Best Hangout. Voting begins today at www.thrillvillegame.com and lasts until Nov. 14.
Hang on to your hats and glasses on Nov. 21, when the winning park is announced – coinciding with the release of Thrillville.
“If not for great theme parks stretching the country from Six Flags Great Adventure in Jackson, NJ, to Paramount’s Great America in Santa Clara, CA, Thrillville wouldn’t exist in the first place,†said Nancy MacIntyre, Vice President of Global Sales and Marketing at LucasArts. “Sponsoring this survey is our way of honoring the inspiration behind the game – even if the park you create in Thrillville could very well best them all!â€
Available for the PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system, Xbox video game system from Microsoft, and PSP® (PlayStation®Portable system) and created by Frontier Developments, Thrillville allows players to customize their own theme-park creation, interact with guests like never before, and build and hop into their own roller coasters and other rides.
In a videogame first, Thrillville lets players race on go-kart tracks they construct, play miniature golf on courses they design, and build roller coasters so high, fast and furious they couldn’t exist in the real world. A multiplayer feature allows up to four friends to play a plethora of minigames, from bumper cars to arcade shoot-‘em-ups. Players can also tour the park on foot – a first for theme-park games – chatting and joking with all the guests to help them out and make sure they’re enjoying themselves.
