WALNUT CREEK, Calif. – (October 31, 2012) – Video game publisher Maximum Games and developer Barnstorm Games today announced the November release of American Mensa Academy™, a new brain-training title for the Nintendo 3DS™ hand-held system and Nintendo’s Wii™ console . The game features genuine American Mensa® questions, challenges and mini-games that test the intelligence of its players, and provides Mensa scores for friends to compare.
American Mensa Academy immerses players in the kind of topics covered by Mensa tests such as Literacy, Numeracy, Logic, Memory, and Visual & Spatial skills. Players can choose from three game modes to enhance their training experience. The game uses certified Mensa-level test questions and challenges, so that players can get a real indication of where they rank and whether they are Mensa material.
American Mensa Academy is set to release on the Wii console on November 13, 2012 and on the Nintendo 3DS system on November 27, 2012. It is the most authentic brain training game ever to appear on these platforms, and offers players the opportunity to test in a bright, interactive environment.
“This title differs from the many ordinary brain trainers out there due to its Mensa-endorsed questions and puzzles,” said Len Ciciretto, president of Maximum Games. “Players are given an opportunity to brag to their friends that they are smarter, and back it up with real evidence!”
The game affords players the opportunity to train and improve their IQ by retesting through different game modes. Five unique categories keep players immersed in the fun, mind-bending problems, and eye-catching graphics put American Mensa Academy in a class all its own.
“We are delighted to be partnering with Maximum Games for the North American release of American Mensa Academy,” stated Simon Jeffrey, CEO of Barnstorm Games. “It was important for us to produce a product that respects the authority of the American Mensa brand, but that also provides a vibrant and entertaining environment in which players can train and take the test.”
"This partnership provides an opportunity for a wide audience to preview the Mensa test-taking experience in a virtual environment,” said Pamela Donahoo, Executive Director of American Mensa. “Our goal is to engage the public and invite them to take the next step toward becoming a part of our organization."
American Mensa Academy is developed by Silverball Studios and Barnstorm Games, and published by Maximum Games. The game is available this month for the Wii and Nintendo 3DS systems and is rated E by the ESRB. For more information, please visit www.maximumgames.com.
