With the help of NBA Ballers: Chosen One cover athlete and 2008 slam dunk contest winner Dwight Howard, Midway used New Orleans as a launching pad for the latest installment of NBA Ballers, set to hit stores April 21. Howard's third dunk, in which he tapped the ball off the glass back to himself, was inspired by his Shut 'Em Down Super Dunk in NBA Ballers: Chosen One. To quote TNT's NBA analyst Kenny Smith "Are you kidding me? He is a videogame! He's not a real person, I haven't even seen dunks like that in a videogame!"

In addition to the images of Howard, Midway today released new screenshots and gameplay footage for NBA Ballers: Chosen One, as the company announced highlights from its largest presence ever at NBA All-Star weekend with community outreach, fan contests, autograph sessions and hands-on gameplay.
In conjunction with the All-Star game and Midway's launch of www.nbaballers.com last week, NBA.com officially kicked-off the 'Search for the Next Chosen One' contest on Thursday, Feb. 14th. The contest allows NBA fans and aspiring artists, alike, to design custom player artwork for the chance to win NBA tickets, an autographed jersey from the 'Chosen One' cover athlete and the 2008 Slam Dunk winner, Dwight Howard, and many other great prizes. On Thursday, February 14, in New Orleans, Midway and NBA Ballers co-cover athlete, Al Horford of the Atlanta Hawks, partnered with the NBA and NBA Cares to refurbish two basketball courts at Laurel Elementary, a local grade school. Midway CEO David Zucker joined Horford, NBA Deputy Commissioner Adam Silver and NBA Special Assistant to Commissioner Bob Lanier for the ribbon cutting ceremony.
At Jam Session throughout All-Star weekend, Midway's "Chosen One" basketball court featured shooting competitions and dunk contests as well as game kiosks for fans to get some hands-on time with the game. The Midway court also held an autograph session for Jam Session attendees featuring Chosen One cover athletes Dwight Howard and Al Horford.
The NBA Ballers: Chosen One marketing campaign also got started last week with the debut of its TV commercial on networks such as ABC, ESPN and TNT, as well as print advertisements which appeared in the 2008 NBA All-Star program and USA Today, among other publications.
