Namco Bandai Games Launch Tekken Talk Twitter Application

Namco Bandai Games have today announced the launch of ‘Tekken Talk’, a new Twitter application in conjunction with the release of Tekken 6, set to hit shelves on 30th October for Microsoft Xbox 360® and Sony Playstation 3®. The application will see players competing in simulated Tekken 6 bouts by tweeting various key words based on actual moves from the game.
There are ten Tekken 6 characters to choose from when participating and a fight will essentially consist of a dialogue between two Twitter users scoring points for their tweets. Points will be awarded depending on the strength of the move and opponents will have to opportunity to defend or counter if they can tweet their response in a timely fashion. In a similar scoring system to darts, players will start each bout with 501 health points and the first to lower their opponent’s health to exactly zero will be proclaimed the winner.
The competition itself will run in two stages:
· Training: Each Tekken 6 warrior has a set of 40 unique and deadly moves and it is the player’s job to train their character sufficiently to ensure they reach optimum fighting condition before entering the fray. Areas to train in are agility, stamina, defending and strength.
· Tournament: The tournaments will be spread over two stages - the heats and the 32 player final tournament; with prizes up for grabs for the emerging winner of each. Matches will run in conjunction with the scoring system outlined above and players will be able to enter specific tournaments to win specific prizes.
