Red Alert to All Soldier Front Clans: Prepare to Battle for Supremacy in the 2008 National Tournament

IRVINE, Calif. – Oct. 1, 2008 –NHN USA, a leading free-to-play online interactive entertainment publisher, today issued a Red Alert to all Soldier Front clans in the United States, announcing the 2008 National Tournament, which will be held from Oct. 1 – Nov. 9. Clans interested in proving their skills against the best of the best online first-person shooter (FPS) players can register at the official Soldier Front website on ijji.com.
Starting October 1, from one corner of the nation to the other, the smoking guns and strained trigger fingers from the clan-on-clan tournament will lead to only the mightiest Soldier Front clan’s flag still waving in the U.S. And in doing so, that champion clan will have not only conquered America, but will also earn the honor of traveling to China to challenge the best Soldier Front warriors from around the world in the 2008 World Championship.
“This is the biggest event ever for the Soldier Front community, and we can’t wait to see the explosions that take place when all these iron warriors come together on the field of battle,” said Vincent Kim, Soldier Front Project Manager, NHN USA. “The 2008 National Tournament will challenge clan members like nothing they have ever experienced in- game so far, and when the smoke clears, the last clan standing will carry their banner into China, to test their might against the best in the world.”
The 2008 Soldier Front National Tournament is open to all clan members, but each clan may only have one team of five players compete. Prizes will be awarded to the top four teams, with the winning clan earning an all-expenses paid trip to China to compete in the 2008 World Championship on November 22-23, and a chance to earn a share of a $30,000 Grand Prize. Some restrictions apply.
Tournament Details
The tournament will take place in the following stages:
° Registration (Through Oct. 7): Each clan leader sends an invitation to clan members; submits participating names for confirmation (participants must be 18 years old, or have submitted the parental agreement) and finalizes the registration process.
° Preliminary (Oct. 1-18): There will be a new Tournament Points which is different from Clan Points, and the new rankings will be based on the points earned during this period. Players can get points with the same people in the maximum 10 matches per day.
° Qualification (Oct. 19-28): All matches will be reviewed and the players will be checked if they are allowed to go to China, and the final 32 teams will be chosen. The table of matches will be prepared and announced as well
° Final Round (Nov. 1-9): Final Rounds will be operated based on the predetermined tournament table of matches. GM’s will be personally running the matches, and all matches will be recorded for future uploading
For Solider Front players not participating directly in the tournament, a side-bar “Tournament Pick ‘Em” contest will be held from October 29-31, where participants can bet on who they think the winner will be. Prizes for the winning bet will be awarded at the end of the tournament.
Soldier Front is an action-packed first person shooter (FPS) game that implements distinct task force strategies found in today's modern combat. Incorporating comprehensive research from military personnel, Soldier Front was developed to represent a soldier's actual perspective, providing players with a realistic and unique experience.
