Baseball Mogul Tops Sales List For 4th Straight Year

March 23, 2010 - According to NPD Research figures through December, Baseball Mogul 2010 is the #1-selling PC baseball game for the fourth consecutive year. With over 230,000 sales, Baseball Mogul 2010 earns the top spot in its category yet again, and shows year-on-year growth despite the downturn in the economy.
"Baseball Mogul continues to be the most realistic baseball simulation that you can buy," said Clay Dreslough, founder and president of Sports Mogul Inc. "But we also put a great deal of effort into making sure the game is fast, fun, stable, intuitive and easy to customize. It's great to see that our hard work continues to make our customers happy, and that realistic baseball simulations continue to grow in popularity."
Baseball Mogul is the first game ever to give the player full control of any baseball franchise from 1901 to 2009, while also adding the strategic option of playing each game pitch-by-pitch. To achieve this level of realism, Sports Mogul collected data for every player season from 1901 through 2009, including creating a proprietary database of pitch ratings and pitching styles for thousands of pitchers.
Sports Mogul Inc. drew a great deal of attention in 2003 when they denounced Digital Rights Management (DRM) and promised to continue to make all their products available to their customers without intrusive copy protection. Clay Dreslough, the president of the company, stated at the time that he didn't want honest consumers to be treated like criminals. "I believe that the way we treat our customers is the key to our continued success. We are a small company that responds immediately to suggestions from our fans. This lets us add the features that people really want, either in the next full release, or even in the next free patch."
