ShootMania™ Storm Launch Event Tournament to Award $100,000 Prize Pool, celebrate with fans

SAN FRANCISCO – April 2, 2013 – Ubisoft® and Nadeo, in conjunction with IGN, will celebrate the April 10 release of ShootMania Storm by hosting a two-day launch event – open to all fans 18 and over – at Cobb’s Comedy Club in San Francisco on April 6 and 7. The event will include both a major professional gaming tournament – the $100,000 ShootMania Storm Launch Event Tournament – as well as a launch party where ShootMania fans can collect exclusive swag, meet the pros, grab a free drink, compete for prizes and view the tournament.

In addition, on April 10, Ubisoft’s Nadeo studio and the ShootMania community will host “ShootMania 4 All,” a worldwide launch party bringing together ShootMania Storm’s first players. Tournament and Launch Event Details
The $100,000 ShootMania Storm Launch Event Tournament will feature two full days of Elite Mode competition on April 6 and 7, casted by AskJoshy, GoldenboyFTW, and SycknesS. Pro teams from around the world have been qualifying for this event for two months, and will include heavyweights such as SK Gaming, Curse Gaming, 4Kings, PyroGEN, Spin Move, Team DM, Colwn, Fnatic, MonoManiac eSports, RiYM, RoughNeX, vVv, Lady Killaz as well as the recently crowned PAX East champs, Ride the Lightning.

Amateur team Ride The Lightning (RTL) conquered all opponents during PAX East – including a feisty Frag Dolls entrant -- to earn the final qualification for the Launch Event Tournament, as well as a free trip to San Francisco to compete against the Pros. Team members TestyRabbit, Ødin and vee have only been playing together for two months and now have the opportunity to take down some of the world’s best pro gamers in their quest for their second tournament win.

For fans, this launch event will be THE place to celebrate ShootMania Storm with exclusive giveaways, free food and drink, tournament viewing and a chance to meet the Pros and IGN editors. In addition, there will be $500 Royal mode tournaments twice daily for attendees. Admission is free on a first-come, first-served basis and the launch event will be open from 10am to 10pm.
