Upper Deck Entertainment Announces 2007 World of Warcraft® Trading Card Game World Championship Tournament Event Schedule
CARLSBAD, CA (November 12, 2007) – Several hundred of the world’s best World of Warcraft® Trading Card Game (TCG) players will gather in San Diego at the end of this month to battle for the biggest grand prize payout in TCG history of $100,000. To make this year’s World of Warcraft TCG World Championship event weekend even larger in magnitude, Upper Deck Entertainment (UDE) announced today a slew of exciting tournaments and prizes for players of all levels who will not be participating in the main tournament event. Please see the list below for details.

Weekend event highlights include: Wrath of the Lich King Beta Pass tournaments (winners receive key codes to preview Blizzard Entertainment’s upcoming expansion set, Wrath of the Lich King); the Dinner with Developers Challenge (winners receive a complimentary dinner with Blizzard Entertainment MMO developers Chris Metzen, Scott Mercer, Travis Day, J. Allen Brack, Cory Stockton and Lee Sparks); Beginner’s Starter Deck Tournament (a perfect event for beginners, players can win an assortment of exciting prizes); the popular Dream Machine Championship (winners will receive an invite to the 2008 National Championship Tournament and a $5000 custom-made Alienware Dual Processor PC); and the first-ever Ladies Championship Tournament (ladies only; top finisher will receive an Apple 13” MacBook).

The World of Warcraft TCG World Championship tournament weekend begins on Thursday, November 30 and will run through Sunday, December 2 at the San Diego Convention Center. Doors to the public will open daily at 9 a.m.

THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 29, 2007
Honor Grind
This tournament serves as a last shot at qualifying to play in the World Championship tournament. For players who have not qualified to participate in the main tournament event (but have attained an Honor Ranking of at least a Level 4), these players can take part in one of four “Honor Grind” events on this day. UDE will award the top four players in each “Honor Grind” event a seat to participate in the World Championship tournament. March of the Legion™ will be legal for Sealed Deck tournaments.

Format: Sealed Deck and Constructed
Entry Fee: $30 (Sealed Deck) and $10 (Constructed)
Times: 10 a.m.-4 p.m. and 2-8 p.m. (Sealed)
12-6 p.m. and 6 p.m.-12 a.m. (Constructed)

Gadgetzanâ„¢ Qualifier
Sponsored by the Gadgetzan Water Co., the tournament winner will receive a Goblin Gadget (Nintendo Wii game system, 16GB iPod Touch, Xbox 360 Elite or Apple iPhone).
The top player in each Gadgetzan Qualifer tournament will be invited to compete in the final round on Sunday, December 2 to compete for their choice of a Dell XPS laptop or MacBook Pro. March of the Legion will be used in Sealed Deck tournaments.

Format: Sealed Deck (six packs of March of the Legion included) and Constructed. Swiss +1 rounds with a 60-minute time limit (best two out of three).

Sealed Starter Deck Tournaments – BEGINNERS WELCOME, NO EXPERIENCE REQUIRED!
Perfect for new players, this tournament has an emphasis on learning how to play the game. Players will be given a random Heroes of Azerothâ„¢ starter sets (which includes two booster packs) and will play using that deck. Instruction and assistance will be given throughout the tournament. Prizes will be awarded for all participants.

Format: Normal constructed deck. One-game matches.
Entry Fee: $15
Times: 10 a.m.-8 p.m.

Raid Deck and Gunslinging Challenge
Players can raid against Onyxiaâ„¢ or Molten Coreâ„¢ to win prizes. Players who are paired against a Blizzard Entertainment or UDE staffer can win and get special prizes. Entry fees for this event will be donated towards charity. March of the Legion can be used for this event.

Teams of two will play side-by-side in the same game where players can protect either player’s characters. The winning team will be awarded 48 packs for their dominant performance. Players without the second person in their group are welcome to combine with another person at the event. Both players of the team must play the same faction (Alliance or Horde). March of the Legion can be used in this tournament.

Lootâ„¢ Card Tournament
Using six packs of the newly released March of the Legion expansion set, players can compete to win new Loot cards from the March of the Legion set (top eight finishers wins).

Wrath of the Lich King Beta Pass – Starter Deck Tournament
Who doesn’t want to have a chance to preview Blizzard Entertainment’s new Wrath of the Lich King expansion set? Top eight finishers will be awarded a special key to play in the Beta version of the Wrath of the Lich King expansion. March of the Legion starter sets will be used in this tournament.

Format: Sealed. Swiss-style tournament with 60 minute-rounds (best two out of three).

Dinner with the Developers Challenge
