NV is now very important, with NV on YOU rule the night. I have made some adjustments to the ambient light so NV will work as it should. Without NV the nights are still pitch black. Adjusted the far plane clipping and fog distance. ***
This DOES effect how NPCs can see you at night! They cannot see you unless you are in a light source area; ie: campfire, fall within their flashlight radius, or are using a flashlight yourself. They will fire in your direction if they hear you and consider you a threat. --The devs have done a great job with the AI's abilities to see at night, they need light sources to see just as we do.
How would you like "The Zone" to be so dark at night that you cannot tell what the weapon looks like in your hand, even with NV on?
Well, now you can with "Pitch Black"...That's right, now you not only have to worry about the Bandit about to pop a cap in your buttocks, but you also have to worry about that landmine you can't see at your feet...BOOM!!...When the sun goes down in the Zone you better hope to have a good hiding place.
This is just a simple fun mod to make things more "interesting". Once 10pm at night arrives the lights go out completely, until 8am. There is still some ambient light and your NVs will help a great deal.
** If you DO NOT have a "gamedata" folder in the main Stalker Directory ** :
1- Drag and drop the gamedata folder from the archieve into you main Stalker directory.
2- Make sure to change the second line of the file fsgame.ltx
From this : $game_data$ = false| true| $fs_root$| gamedata
To this : $game_data$ = true| true| $fs_root$| gamedata
3- Start game and enjoy the night.
** If you DO have a "gamedata" folder in the main Stalker Directory ** :
1- Drag and drop the .ltx files inside the .rar archieve into you C rogram FilesTHQS.T.A.L.K.E.R. - Shadow of Chernobylgamedataconfigweathers folder.
2- Start game and enjoy the night.
DO NOT overwrite any files you have inside your gamedata folder, rename or move them to another location. ********
