Stargate Worlds Beta Sign-Ups Exceed 100 Thousand

Cheyenne Mountain Entertainment and FireSky announced that in only half a month the closed beta registration list for Stargate Worlds has exceeded 100,000 applications. You can register for beta test if you create an account on Stargate Worlds website. Invitations will be sent out this spring and summer as the Stargate Worlds team ramps up the numbers for testing. The select group of beta testers will provide feedback to the development team about their game experience while also providing vital insight into the performance of the servers. The closed beta will begin with a small core of gamers and gradually expand as more functionality is added.

Blast Works: Build, Trade, Destroy Goes Gold

Majesco Entertainment today announced that Blast Works: Build, Trade, Destroy for the Nintendo Wii, a game developed by Budcat Creations, has been approved for manufacturing and will ship on June 10th for $39.99. Blast Works: Build, Trade, Destroy is a side-scrolling shooter that lets players craft the game to their liking by building their own levels, ships and enemy ships, as well as absorb the pieces and weapons of destroyed enemy ships. City of Heroes Issue 12 Midnight Squad Trailer

NCsoft today released a new trailer for Midnight Hour, showcasing the twelfth expansion to the City of Heroes/Villains universe. The stars of this issue are The Midnight Squad, a clandestine organization who will take players back to ancient Roman times where mystery awaits and secrets will be revealed. Further changes include numerous 'Quality of Life' improvements such as an overhauled Contacts display and eight new configurable power trays. In addition, the Hollows zone receives a significant redesign, and Powerset Proliferation will see over twenty existing powersets made available to additional Archetypes, increasing the possibilities available for character combinations. City of Heroes Issue 12: Midnight Hour will be available this Spring.

SCEA 2008 and Early 2009 PS3/PSP/PSN Line-Up Revealed

Sony Computer Entertainment America today announced a line up titles set to launch over the remainder of 2008 and during early 2009 exclusively for PLAYSTATION 3, PSP and PLAYSTATION Network. The list includes blockbuster titles like Killzone 2 and LittleBigPlanet, but also less known titles like PixelJunk Eden and Elefunk, together with release dates and details. Nintendo Wii April 2008 Sales Figures Announced

Nintendo today announced that Wii sold more than 714,000 units in April alone, bringing its lifetime sales in the United States to more than 9.5 million. Six of the top 10 games of the month are also Nintendo Wii titles, Mario Kart Wii (No. 2), Wii Play (No. 4), Super Smash Bros. Brawl (No. 5), Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Darkness (No. 7), Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time (No. 8) and Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock.

The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian Trailer #3

Disney Interactive Studios has released a new trailer from The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian, showcasing the game that takes players beyond the events of the upcoming Summer 2008 blockbuster film. A year after the events of the first film, "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe", but 1,300 years in Narnian time, Prince Caspian finds the Pevensie children returning to a darker land where the Narnian creatures have been driven into hiding and Narnia is under the rule of the evil tyrant Mira. The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian will be released to retail stores on the 20th June in time for the film's 27th June 2008 release date - the game will be available for PC, Xbox 360, PS3, PS2, Wii and DS.

Electronic Arts today announced that Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning, the MMORPG in the works at EA Mythic, will ship in Australia, New Zealand and Southeast Asia simultaneously with the North American and European Fall 2008 release. In addition, WAR will also feature a dedicated server in Australia, ensuring the best game play experience possible for players in Australia, New Zealand, Singapore and other Southeast Asian territories. Ignition Entertainment today announced it has partnered with Playlogic Entertainment to bring Red Bull BC One to North America, exclusively for Nintendo DS. Red Bull BC One is a game where you will control a break dancer by solving puzzles under strict time limits. Puzzles consist of drawing geometrical shapes, which will get more complex as the game progresses. Red Bull BC One will be available in early Summer 2008.
