---------------------------------------------------------------------------
This guide will cover all of the popular Gil farming spots of the game. There
is no real best, only spot that people think are the best. But I will try
to provide raw numbers of each so you can make your own choice as to which you
want to try out. There is also a Faq at the end, that will answer questions I
get frequently asked about the faq, or about things related to gil farming such
as catalogs.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mission 24 - (CP9)
Method - Repeatable Mission
Roles - Com-Rav-Rav
Com-Com-Rav
Com-Rav-Med
Items - Nothing required..
Optional Items - Nothing.
Recommended Stats - None really, its an easy fight.
Gil per hour - 540k at 10 second battle times. (credit to GTTFOS, he says you
can com/com/com it in 10 seconds.)
360k at 30 second battle times.
240k at 1minute battle times.
This includes the 30 seconds its takes to restart the mission.

.

This is the earliest available method of Gil farming worth covering. And it is
a very solid method even post game. You have to complete this mission to get
past the tower arc of the story so you know you are strong enough to do it.
After you complete the tower arc, take the elevator down to the next area, then
turn around and go back. Take the elevator to the 4th floor and then take the
sub elevator to the 5th tier. Here you will see a statue, he gives you the
mission. The target spawns in this very room so there is no travel time. Kill
it, and receive a reward that sells for 6k gil. Rinse and repeat. *If you are
beyond this point, Take the C'eith teleportal to the tower, ride the elevator
to the 4th tier. Then take the Sub elevator to

The Pros: Very easy, anyone in chapter 11 can do this. Good Gil gain, very
steady with guaranteed returns.
The Cons: With about a 400k max an hour return, you can on average get a higher
return on other methods.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Chapter 13 C'eith (before you beat the game) - (CBF)
Method - Straight farm.
Roles - Sab - Sab - Rav
Com - Sab - Rav
Com - Rav - Rav
Items - Nothing required..
Optional Items - Both catalogs will help tremendously.
Recommended Stats - By the time you get here for the first time if you have
done 0 grinding they will be somewhat strong. But still beatable So there is no
rec stats.
Gil per hour - 500k when you first get here, with the potential to reach 900k
an hour after you gear yourself up. After you beat the game it falls to
about 200k-300k an hour. Really not worth the hassle.

This is the best method for raw Gil per hour. But after you beat the game
the gil per hour will take a massive hit. I will explain this in the FAQ at
the end. For now, the Strat.

Just before the portals at the start of 13. There is a save point with a pack
of 3 silver C'eith, and a pack of 4. If you move off screen they both respawn.
They are worth about 20k gil each pack. and take less then 2min to
kill.(eventually 30seconds ish when your geared up. You can also get preemptive
attacks on them every time after a little practice. If your not geared/leveled.
You start off with a sab/sab.rav and just debuff them all. Once they are
debuffed you switch to a com/rav/rav and aoe them all, with ruinga. If you are
leveled up, and your weapons are good. Then you can go com/sab/ravand just
start casting ruinga at the very start with your com. Then switch tocom/rav/rav
when they are all debuffed. There is no way to really tell when they are, just
guess. What makes this so nice is that they are very susceptible to debuffs, and
after they are pained and fogged they just wander around and don't attack you.
They are normally very hard to kill cause they have massive hp and resistances
to everything. But the debuffs make them very squishy in addition to not
attacking. When you first start here if you are weaker it might be a little
tough, you might get a game over here and there if you get unlucky with the
debuffs. But stick with it, after you get some levels and items it becomes VERY
easy and has the best gil gain in the game.

***Keldonis suggests that you only kill the pack of 3, and ignore the pack of4.
He states that the pack of 4 takes longer to kill then the added chance of
a drop makes up for. Try them both out and make your own conclusion.***

Having trouble getting them to respawn?
The paths that go off to the sides are the ones you need to take to get them
to respawn, you cant use the main path to the portals or back towards Eden.
This is why the farm take a massive hit after you beat the game. These two
paths to the sides will disappear preventing you from respawning the packs
properly and you have to save/reload. You can actually see the red dots
reappear as you runaway from them, so you know exactly when they respawn.

Having trouble getting the preemptive strike?
The pack of 3 it is possible to get the strike on the solo one right by the
path and with some practice this is the best place to do it because it allows
you to more efficiently respawn them. However, if you are having trouble
there. You can go around to the other side (near the path to the portals.) and
approach the two at the top, they will both turn their backs at the same time
and it is very easy to preemptive them from here.

The pack of 4 is easiest to get from the side path. One of them will wander
very far out alone, wait for him to turn back to the group and hit him then.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Next up is the most popular, Ingot farming by way of
Adamantoise/Adamantortoise killing. There are several ways to do this, So I
will cover them all for completeness.

Adamantiose - (ASD)
Method - Summon/Death
Roles - Sab - Sab - ???
Items - None required.
Optional Items - Haste boots, Belladonna Wand (preferably level 2.),
Recommended Stats - None.
Gil per hour - 100k-300k depending on luck.

This method is the first available to you, You only NEED the ability "Death"
on Vanille.Any place with a Adamantoise near a save point is a good spot for
this farm.(the center of pulse or eden.)This method is also the easiest, but
most tedious of all the Gil farming methods. On to the strat!

When the fight starts immediately Summon controlling Vanille. This will
lower the beast to the ground destroying his legs and preventing him from
attacking you. *DO NOT* cancel your summon, let it attack along side you. Never
activate the Gestalt mode. Start by adding deshell and deprotect to him. (this
increases the odds of your death.)Then start spamming death on him. Eventually
your summon will leave, and your party will return. Hopefully the other sab
will get another debuff or two up for you. But you just continue to spam death
and pray.If your lucky enough it will work and he will die. Ive found you can
get 12deaths off with this method. Given the 5% chance of it working, + the
bonus from the 2 debuffs and the extra sab in the party. This give you a 8%
chance of the death working. meaning 1 in 12.5 should work. You might think this
means you have around a 90% chance of succeeding but that's not quite right.
Ive found about 60% of them time you will get a kill, and the other 40% you
will fail. If you fail, just retry. If you succeed then to kill things to get
your TP back. Save, reload and try again.

The Pros - this is easy, can be done early. And once you get a 3rd sab
role becomes more efficient.
The Cons - Very luck based, you can have a good streak or a bad one quite
often. Which can lead to frustrating. Farming the needed TP after battle is
also annoying.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Adamantiose/Adamantortoise - (NSD)
Method - Death
Roles - Sab - Med - Syn
Sab - Med - Med
Sab - Sab - Med(optional. if you have it.)
Items - Imperial armlet x2 on each character.
Optional Items - Haste boots, Belladonna Wand (preferably level 2.),
Recommended Stats - You must have over 8k health, or he will one shot you.
Gil per hour - 200k-500k depending on luck.

The Adamantortoise is nearly the same as the Adamantoise, only he does
less damage and has a smaller stagger guage. In this case the Adamantortoise is
the better choice of the two. This method is very similar to the Summon/Death
method only you try to stay alive through stomps instead of summoning to take
out the legs. This obviously requires a much higher level party, and some more
prep items to minimize damage. The imperial Armlets offer some very good damage
reduction when starred, and stack on each other. So they are a must. you start
the fight the same as above, putting a few debuffs on him. Since you dont have
as strict of a time limit here you can add more debuffs if you deem it worth
while I wont offer math on it but I will suggest doing so. Hope as your syn/med
will hopefully buff you with protect and shell asap. Once he does switch to
your sab/med/med And catch up on healing. Once you are caught up on healing
switch to a sab/sab/med if possible. (will depend on your crystogem levels.)
Then spam death and pray again. An easy way to tell if you are strong enough to
eliminate the summon is to simply try it. Either you will get owned really
quickly by stomps, or you wont. Its pretty obvious.

The Pros - No more TP farming improves your cycle times greatly, allowing
for more kills per hour. This method is also much less tedious then the
summon method. Also having no time limit will guarantee much fewer failures.
The Cons - Requires more items to prepare, and a much stronger party to handle
it.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Adamantiose - (AFL)
Method - Summon/Fang
Roles - Sab - Com - Com
Com - Rav - Rav
Com - Com - Com
Items - none.
Optional Items - Shrouds for haste/brave/faith.
Recommended Stats - With a Shroud you will need about 1400 str on each com.
With out one you need roughly 2000 on each.
Gil per hour - 350k (450k if no shroud is used.)

For this method, the stronger Adamantoise is actually easy at first. Then
the Adamantortoise becomes easier when your str gets higher. Test them both
out form time to time to determine for yourself which is better at your
current strength. The reason behind this is the tortoise will stagger to early
with your summon still out and you wotn kill it in one stagger. Sometimes you
can quickly restagger him if you have the ability to also have a 3xrav
paradigm. But its not worth the risk.

As with the first summon method you summon your Eidolin right away. (if you
arenot using a shroud, you can have sahz start in syn and try to get a few
hastes up before the second stomp comes then summon before the 2nd stomp.)With
your summon out, you should be in control of fang as a sab. Just let her auto
debuff him until she has deshell deprotect and imperil on him. (You can do this
manually to slightly speed it up.) remember to cancel remaining orders once the
spell lands to save time by pressing B.

After he is fully debuffed switch to your Com-Com-Com roles and Start
attacking along side your summon. As before DO NOT activate Gestalt mode. When
his timer runs out he will fully heal your party and fly away. As he leaves the
Adamantoise will be about 3% from stagger. So use your Com-Rav-Rav paradigm
to stagger him. Swap to Com-Com-Com and attack for 2 rounds in this paradigm.
Switch back to Com-Rav-Rav and attack once more before going back into
Com-Com-Com. The reason behind this is every time you change roles your ATB is
filled to full. If at least 2 rounds have passed in your previous paradigm. You
can also set up a second Com-Com-Com and switch between the two Com's paradigms
every two rounds to maximize damage. If he stands back up, you lose.

The Pros - This method is a guaranteed kill every time. So no more failures!
the Cons - When using a shroud its very counter productive to making gil
when you have to spend 12.5k just to try and get a ingot. When not using a
shroud its only con is the TP you have to farm after each kill.

*Note on the above method, some people will claim using ravs until hes at
900%stagger is better then going to com's But I have done extensive testing and
it is better to go to all com's as soon as he staggers.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Adamantortiose - (ASL)
Method - Summon/Sahz
Roles - Syn - Com - Com
Syn - Rav- Sab
Rav - Rav - Rav(or Com, depending on your Crystogem levels.)
Com - Com - Com
Com -Com - Com
Items - None.
Optional Items - None
Recommended Stats - You will want around 900 str on sahz, and 1400 on your
other two characters.
Gil per hour - 450k

Gate of Destiny was kind enough to provide a very good strat for this for
me.And also a Video! So all credit for this method goes to
him.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FDmRe9uIur4

Anyway, You start of with a Summon once again. You can let a stomp go off
before the summon if you can live through it. To allow Sahz some extra time to
buff. Once your summon is out manually buff yourself then swap to a Com and
start Blitzing.Once your summon flies away you want to be in a Syn-Rav-Sab.
Manually buff your team once again. (to avoid non offensive buffs.) haste/brave
is all I would do.Faith might be good on Sahz as well. After your buffed and
hes debuffed, switch to your Rav-Rav-Rav and get him into stagger.Once hes
staggered start a ColdBlood and immediately switch to Com-Com-Com this will
give you the chain bonus of the cold blood and the damage bonus of a Com.As
above you Want to switch crystogems every other round to maximize damage.Switch
between Com-Com-Com and either Com-Com-Com or Rav-Com-Com for another cold
blood if the stagger isn't high enough. Again, if he stands back up, you lose.

The Pros - You can do this with out a shroud sooner then the above
method because of Sahz's Syn role.
The Cons - You can do the above method with shrouds sooner then this method. And
again, you have to farm TP after each kill.

*Note as far as I know, the Adamantoise is never better then the
Adamantoroise for this method.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Adamantortiose - (AAA)
Method - Straight Kill
Roles - Sab - Rav - Syn
Rav - Rav - Rav
Com - Rav - Med
Com - Com - Rav
Sent - Med - Med
Items - Imperial Armlet x2 for each character.
Optional Items - None
Recommended Stats - You want to be maxed in all 3 of your primary roles.
Andhave fang with at least 1 point into Rav.
Gil per hour - 400k-700k depending on speed.

To start, you buff and debuff him. then follow the strat below depending
on which leader you chose to use. You cant change leaders mid fight, these
are two separate strats depending on the leader you chose. Light will take
longer to kill the legs, but is able to stack the stagger meter much much
faster once hes down. Fang will allow you to kill the legs much faster, and
debuff him faster once hes down. Its debatable which ones better.

Light you will attack one round with autobattle as a Rav. (Rav-Com-Med) Then
the second round you start AoE spam on the leg. After the first leg dies.Switch
to Sent/Med/Med, The adamantoise will cast quake soon, and so you want to catch
up on healing. Just wait for the quake and heal up then repeat the Army of one
spam on the second leg until it falls.

Fang - With fang after the buff and debuff has ended you want to go to
aCom-Rav-Rav and attack for one round. The switch to a Rav/Rav/Rav and
stagger the leg. After its staggered attack it one more round in this paradigm,
then switch to a Com-Com-Rav. Attack it until it is about to destagger then
drop a Highwind on it. This will kill the first leg. Switch to your
Sent-Med-Med and catch up on healing. The repeat the process for the second
leg. If you are having trouble staying alive you can use a Rav-Rav-Med instead
of Rav/Rav/Rav .But it will be slightly slower.

After he drops, with either character its the same. Make sure the debuffs are
up on him before starting to stagger him. The just Rav/Rav/Rav until he
staggers then switch to Com-Com-Rav and kill it before it stands back up.

The Pros - Straight forward fight, it comes down to wiether you are
strong enough or not. No more Tp farming!!!
The Cons - Requires you to be very strong. So it becomes available last of
all the methods I covered in this Faq.

FAQ - (CQA)

Q: Should I farm CP before I farm my Gil?
A: No. Never farm CP, you will max out all of your characters CP long before
you max out your Gil needs.

Q: Where do i get catalogs?
A: You get the collectors off of mission 8, you can also buy one later in
the game for 100k.You will get a Connoisseur catalog after completing the tier
7
of the tower.I suggest doing mission 8 before, and getting the Connoisseur
before doing any gil farming.

Q: Do catalogs stack?
A: The same catalogue equipped multiple times will not stack, but
different catalogues (ie. one each of collector, conniseur, and survivor) will.
(Creditizza20)

Q: Should I farm incentive chips in hopes home?
A: its up to you, its a very low rate of return, but if you really want to
farm early this is an ok spot.

Q:Ive heard another method is good, you didnt cover it, is it really good?
A: I dont know, send me an email, or make a post in the forum and we can
figure it out. It might be a spot I dont know about.

Q: How can I farm TP faster?
A: In Eden the adamantoise is close to a save, a zone line, and has alot of
very weak soldiers around to regain your tp on. (*Credit to izza20, and
trunks76140)

Q: Wont the stagger guage reset if the summon leaves?
A: No, It will only reset if you enter the Gestalt mode. So if you let him
flyaway the stagger meter will not reset.

Q: Why will the chapter 13 farm stop spawning when you beat the game?
A: The 2 paths that extend to the sides will disappear once you finish the
cradle. The two main paths will remain, but for some reason they only respawn
when you take a side path.

Q: When killing Adamantoises why should I use Com/Com/Com instead of getting
a 999% stagger?
A: This is a very common debate. I will not side with either at this time,
However, in my personal testing I have found the damage you lose staying in
Rav's is far greater then the damage you would gain at a 999% stagger.

Q: Doesnt the stagger meter rest to 0 after you summon?
A: Only if you enter Gestalt mode, which is why I say never to use it.

Tips and Tricks. - (UT1)

From - Nimmy
For the Summon/Death method, I suggest
- use settings so that the cursor is positioned on "ability" at the beginning
of battle
- use a syn for him to cast hasteI was able with this method to do 16 death
before the tortoise reacts and kills me (I didn't do deprotect-deshell, so make
that 15)
