Zensen Community F.A.Q.
First of all will there be a Free Alpha or Beta version of this game?
Yes there will be an open Alpha and Beta of the game when the time has come
players will be able to download this version from our Homepage.
Whats Zensen and what does it mean?
The word Zensen itself means to fight a good Fight apparently its Japanese
The game itself is an online Beat´em-Up with some RPG influences.
What’s the Online mode about?
That means the major part of the game will be the Multiplayer modus, besides
of that every Tournament level has some kind of Town where the players can
spent their time before the fight starts.
What can you do in the Towns?
During the fights at the Tournament it is possible to spend “freetime” in
the Town. Inbetween fights at the Tournament the player sometimes has to
wait a while before his fight starts so he has the option to Chat, Trade or
Train with other players, buy new Weapons, Health Potions or Specials like
Videos is possible, too.
Are their any Npc´s (Non player Characters?)
Yes, but they wont effect the gameplay too much. Their “job” is to make the
town livelier and provide quests.
Are there quest able Weapons?
Yes defiantly.
Is Armor or cloth available too?
In the first release of the game no Clothing of any type will be supported,
the main concern is that Heavy-armor would alter the characters stats too
much and would make it impossible for lower level players to compete against
these upgraded characters.
Maybe this will change in the progress of updates and events we will listen
to our community as the game grows.
What Game modes are available?
The main part is the Online Tournament and the 1 on 1 as well.
For new players there will be a Tutorial and the Training game mode.
How do the fights work?
At this point there will be only 1 on 1 fighting, Punches, Kicks and of
course Sword attacks.
In the Duel the fights are fought in smaller levels and take as long as it
takes normally a fight shouldn’t take longer then 5-8 minutes. (It’s the
default rule the server host can set a time limit for fights)
Changes to the rules will be made on special events.
What 5-8 Minutes? Ho does that work?
Zensen is not like the most Beat em ups there are no rounds during a Fight
if some is KO the fight is over.
Therefore the Player will have much more Hitpoints as usual, that why one
fight can take a bit longer.
What about the Weapons, only Swords?
Yes just the NPC´s will carry different Weapons; the player can only use
Swords, 100-140 Swords are planed
What do that Events involve that you mentioned?
Once the game is in Final there will be events hold on set times of the
year, events can alter or change the game for several days in what way this
is planned is a surprise^^.
That being said we will have two test events during open beta.
What is the Story about?
The Story shows the Tournament and the huge 500 years anniversary ceremony
form the view of the different characters.
Every Character has his background story and his own reasons to be at the
Tournament.
The main story is about how the main characters foregathered.
How much Characters are available?
There are 15 different Characters.
How does the World of Zensen look?
The game takes place in a Fantasy world with different kinds of influences
like, Traditional Japanese, Indian and Caribbean.
The villages are quite reposeful and the architecture is rustically and
simple.
Deep in the country the old convents and temples are located.
The Cities are crowded and very modern a lot of nice buildings are located
there.
What Locations are planed for the Tournament?
The level designers got their liberties on that but to name a few that are
planned
A Temple City
A Modern City
An old Castle
The list of possibilities is endless…
What is the Characters role?
Every Character has his own reasons to be at the Tournament and a case
history. That is what the Intro will show.
What’s so special about the story?
The story has a RPG flavor and ensures a Tournament feeling. The Story line
of the Main Characters educes to a coherent story.
What’s the Graphic style?
The game is supposed to look realistic but will still have a “comic” style
you could compare this to other Beat´em-Ups like Virtura fighter and so on.
What kinds of Weapons do exist?
There will be lot of Swords some build from real submittals some non
realistic.
The 16 Special Swords that are the Tournament price will unlock a special
move for each Character if he uses the right sword.
How do you control the game?
There will be a Mouse and Keyboard support but if you want to play it more
comfortable a Game pad is needed.
How do you play?
The Online Tournament has the following rules, there are only 1 one 1
fights, if someone leaves the ring he looses, if someone gives up or is KO
is loses as well.
The Duel fights basically have the same rules but in some Level a ring out
will end deadly.
During the Tutorial the Player will be able to learn every Move that is
possible.
A Special version of the Duel is the Training the players will be able to
Train on the Duel maps without loosing Hit Points.
How many Players can play the game?
On a Tournament map 8-32 can join the game. Duel and training is always 1
vs. 1.
What is new and special about the Game?
With short words nearly everything.
A real Tournament feeling, online Beat´em-Up fights, Anime and MMORPG
influences.
What Music the game will contain?
Suitable to the Game-play or Cut-scenes different music styles are used
sometimes no music. In Tournament maps will be no background music
everything will de done with ambient sounds like music that comes out of a
bar or the noise of the blacksmith that is working, in the arena music will
be played during the fights and a lot of noise from the ordinance will
ensure a nice atmosphere.
Maybe a Mp3 player will be implemented but that is unsure at this point.
Will there be voice output?
Yes and of course taunts and other things will be implemented.
How can u recognize a NPC?
Non Playing Characters got no emoticons and no name is displayed over their
head the Majority of them is wearing no weapons.
Are there any mini-games in the Tournament maps?
Yes it is possible to place a bet on fights at the Tournament; but it is not
possible to place a bet on your own fight. Other Mini-games are planned.
How does the Player earn Money?
During the Tournament every player will get Money the so called Fiolen as he
Trades, sells or simply wins fights. Additionally the player can place bets
on fights alternate ways to obtain money will be implemented as the game
grows with updates etc.
What is being done to Avoid RMT (Real money trade)?
In massively multiplayer games that feature a Delivery system this problem
is pretty common and we are aware of that, and know RMT done by organised
groups can ruin a game, when the game goes final we will try to offer a RMT
free environment.
Players that will trade Items or in-game currency for real life Money will
be permanently banned and their CD-keys blocked. We will not tolerate any
RMT and will take steps against that when the time has come.

How does the Tournament work?
The Tournament has an own system that ensures that the Player will not have
to wait a long time between the fights. Basically the Tournament is held in
two groups.
Is the game only Online?
No but the Main part is the Online mode and players without a internet
connection wont have a lot to do.
How is the balance of fighting and being inside of the community (town)?
The fighting comes first, maybe 40% of the tournament will be non fighting
time, but the Player is able to Train in this time.
