known issues and
- Don't start a singleplayer game.
It's better to start a multiplayer LAN game.
Select COOP and the number of players.
Now it's possible to play against up to 63 bots !
- You can setup cpu time and ai skill.
50:50 is a good value, maybe more
- if you get lag this may be because of several problems.
for example older hardware.
sometimes it's possible the ai causes lag (hanging bots).
- in some maps the bots have to capture flags on an island.
in those maps it's possible to get the bots into a huey and drop them over a landingzone (yellow smoke).
but be carefull ! there are no parachutes in some maps, so you'll have to land to get them out ;-)
- bots don't fly hueys very well.
there has been spent a lot of time from many coders to get them fly.
but the BF1942 ai is coded to fly planes, nor hueys and copters.
so it's better to fly for yourself.
- the bots won't react on any radio command !
- bots in a tank won't leave the vehicle if they have spotted an enemy or if they are 'thinking'.
if they are allright they'll get out if you want to enter.
- bots don't work with every vehicle.
for example the K63: they drive but don't shoot.
we've reduced the quote of non-using-vehicles up to a minimum but still there are some vehicles.
- set the sound settings to 44 khz !
- if you've got good hardware you should try max. settings !
set antialiasing and everything else to max. in your graphiccards driver.
in BF1942 set everything (lighting, shadows, resolution and so on) to max. too, this will give you a very nice ambience.
Totally over-worked AI code. For example bots use mortars and nearly every vehicle now. They fly copters better than in previous releases.
Willy and Gaz69 got radios onboard (Co-driver fire).
Ugly Huey Cockpits fixed
Objectslightmaps (lighting/shadows...) added to a lot of maps.
All skyboxes stored in 1 archive now to decrease the map sizes. No more duplicate files.
Lots of sound-bugs fixed. Most maps had wrong pathnames and no sound.
