Armageddon Empires v1.04 Patch
This update should be applied to earlier versions 1.1a, 1.1b, 1.1c, 1.02, 1.03, 1.03a and 1.03b

Instructions: Double left click on the Zip file to unload the files to your Armageddon Empires folder where the game was installed. The default installation location is C:\Program Files\Cryptic Comet\ArmageddonEmpires. The default location for the update unzip program corresponds to the default installation program. Two files should be overwritten AIScripts.cxt and MainInterface.cxt.

Update Notes 1.04
Fixed bug where attachments could be place on friendly units if you were in enemy outpost hex.Fixed bug where hyperactive click while deploying a card to the board could result in card duplication.

Added additional safety locks to prevent duplication of cards when shifting units around during the battle setup phase.

Fixed bug in battle module where illegally initiating action during AI's turn resulted in AI skipping remainder of their combat action.

Fixed bug where capture kill attempt in hex without any friendly combat units could stall turn.

Fixed bug where retreat challenge screen was not clearing for presentation of capture kill after battle if hot key was being used.

Fixed bug in Salvage ops where testing for besieged hex caused error message.

Fixed bug where AI trying to avoid making card attachments that didn't make sense against remaining enemies caused error.

Fixed bug in Game Setup where change card points and then switching map sizes caused an error.

Fixed bug where erroneous message would appear stating that hero had captured enemy outpost by himself. Heroes can only capture indie facilities on their own. The presence of a garrison (empty or not) prevents heroes from capturing major enemy bases by themselves.

Fixed bug where trying to deploy unit on top of enemy outpost displayed wrong msg code and could produce error.

UI

Cards that are not eligible for deployment or for making attacks from the hand because of lack of AP or resources are dimmed.

Removed modal locks from mini map so that it can be used even when warning/info messages are displayed.

Added hex highlight on Mini Map that corresponds to hex of interest during notifications of enemy movement and actions.

After finishing card creation player is returned to army viewer interface instead of main map.

End turn hot key also mapped to "Y" key.

Hot key "Enter/F" acknowledgment of claim resources added.

Hot key "Enter/F" acknowledgment of espionage events added.

V1.03b Update Notes

Fixed bug where previous screen did not clear when retreat all selected and enemy decided to retreat as well.

Fixed bug where Move Army To Support Goal was return wrong target hexcoord.

Fixed bug where Attempt Card Create goal was causing error when lab or academy had been destroyed but fail safe was not working.

Fixed bug where breakthrough attack for AI had possibility of attack front line unit because targeting algorithm was ranking all unit cards and not just back row cards.

Fixed bug where rare configuration after processing of Capture Kill Goal would cause engine not to recognize that it was still the AI's turn.

Fixed bug where destroyed bounty hunter hero caused Capture Kill Goal to return error.

Fixed bug where double click and drag on card in editor caused Tile editor to appear.

V1.03a Update Notes

Fixed bug introduced by 1.03 where destruction of garrison during battle results in elimination of the garrison if the defender wins the battle. Garrison should remain.

Fixed bug where blind shot missile attacks (no precision targeting) were aborting on impact because targeting data was being drawn from AI intel object which could be out of date. Blind missile impacts now being determined by map object data.

Fixed bug where human player using engineers to remove mine field did not discard enemy minefield from in play list causing error when facilities are considered for repair (even though mine fields are not eligible).

Fixed bug for Deploy Outpost Goal cycling indefinitely if target deploy hex rating not in acceptable range.

Fixed bug where passive espionage data gathered was causing error when old knowledge conflicted with new knowledge on enemy facilities.

Fixed bug where selecting large or huge map and then selecting normal map left 3rd opponent slot on the board.

Fixed bug which caused error during end round processing of AI's hex observation status.

Implemented safety locks to prevent any duplication of cards when they are being arranged before battle.

Fixed bug where algorithm for checking for supply choke points was choking.

Fixed bug where vengeance attack against unit with counter attack was failing

Fixed bug where double attack unit destroyed by counter attack was giving extra attack to other side.

Fixed bug where Xenopod Larva was destroyed causing goal to misbehave.

Fixed bug where repair facilities bonus was not being applied to repair costs (human resource costs are not reduced by design).

UI

New confirmation hot key. Almost all dialogues that have a single response option can be acknowledged with this hot key. During any challenge pressing "Enter" or "F" will commit the next logical action. Such as starting rolls, accepting results, and confirming the AI response.

Hot keys:

Enter / F - Acknowledge Next Action/Start Dice Rolls

Arrow Keys Function To Scroll Map

W - Scroll Map Up

A - Scroll Map Left

S- Scroll Map Down

D - Scroll Map Right

F12 - End Turn or Resume AI as appropriate

Spacebar - Toggle Cards in Hand

Tab - Toggle Mini Map

Info pad for cards in hand can be dismissed by left clicking anywhere on map or moving the mouse over the pad.

Space Bar does not toggle hand display if create army/save game text entry dialogue is active.

After creating an army the Army Viewer is no longer reset so that no army is selected.

Cards now scroll in opposite direction.

Multi-Targeting now starts with maximum attack number (10 die max) as the initial attack rather than 1.

Cancel button in options menu changed to save.

Iron Man games now prompt user to enter save file name after first turn.

AI

Change Fuzzy Logic Rules to take hitability (attack - defense) more into account when deciding on target selection.

Corrected Fuzzy Logic Rules so that AI with decent odds to win battle will engage counter attack units even if risk of damage is moderate.

Bug Fixes

Fixed army being deleted bug when move was canceled after pop up box explained that selected hex was not valid.

Fixed goal object bug where Intel Facility was trying to upgrade itself past its max level in response to enemy sabotage attempts.

Fixed bug where threat objects from defeated enemies were triggering failed responses in some cases - culled threat objects after AI defeat.

Fixed error where capture of hero by indie caused attempt to tell indie (which has no global AI) that hero had been captured.

Fixed error where goal to cut off enemy supply was failing if unit assigned to mission had been destroyed.

Fixed error where missile barrage goal was attempting to position mobile launcher even if it had been destroyed.

Fixed error where empty garrison was remaining if outpost had been destroyed. Empty ones without outpost now culled at beginning of new round.

Fixed error where no engineer in hex for minefield deployment was returning message that a hero or engineer was needed.

Fixed error where Machines were trying to deploy thrall chamber and wrong goal was being created.

Fixed error where minefield depletion after attacks was causing duplicate removal of the minefield from the board.

Fixed error where infantry support special ability was not conveying bonus for movement to infantry type (Infantry, PBA, Robot) units in same army.

UI Fixes

Added rollover info pad display of details on cards in player hand.

Added initial hotkey support: Space bar toggles the hand display.

Tab button Toggles the Mini Map.

New Features

Esc key disabled for quitting the program.

Added Fast Initiative Rolls Toggle Button in Options.

Added Fast Die Rolls Toggle Button in Options.
