Black Moon Chronicles - Winds of war ™ is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game Inspired by the world of the famous graphic novel "Chroniques de la Lune Noire©," by François Marcella Froideval, designed by Olivier LeDroit and Cyril Pontet. It has sold more than 4 million copies to this day.

The player evolves in a interactive comic book. Its graphics, the way to communicate with both the player characters and the non-player characters have no equivocation.
Everything was staged to remind the world of comic books.

The players must choose between the four factions; The Empire, the Order of Light, the Knights of Justice and the Priesthood of the Black Moon. Among these factions, the player will have the opportunity to choose between twelve classes of characters.

The players must travel the land of Lhynn, seeking answers about their past. They confront many creatures. Thus, playing as a team will allow them to learn new skills more easily.

The universe created by François Marcella Froideval offers many development opportunities for the game which will promote interactions between the players as well as role-playing.

Moreover, the world imagined by the author confronts two major forces. Those who like kingdom against kingdom games will not be outdone!

Background

For over thirty years, the vast army of the emperor Haghendorf has maintained peace in the kingdom of Lhynn. A civilization at its peak that shines like a jewel in a world of darkness, where strength rules. The political stagnation of the Empire has lead to internal dissent; the vicious game of politics has had its impact! Haazheel Thorn has declared war. The fissures may lead to the collapse of the Empire!

The Order of Light, a militarized society, which has always been the right hand of the Emperor, are no longer blindly loyal to their master. The Knights of Justice, a young army of religious soldiers seek Haghendorf’s formal approval, but have yet to receive imperial recognition in return of their efforts. Haazheel Thorn, the sinister master of the Black Moon, seeks to destroy Haghendorf’s empire. Many are those who consider him a god and are tempted to join him.
Thirty years ago the Oracle foretold the coming of a chosen one, which would lead to the final destruction of the world, at least as we know it. Fifteen years later, a massacre known as "The Night of screaming tears" remains etched in our memories. Many children were saved from that massacre but their fates were changed forever.

Those children have grown up now, and they are endowed with strange powers. Their huge potential is being actively sought by the various factions who are preparing for confrontation, as the winds of war are blowing across the Kingdom of Lhynn… And the fate of the world may be in their hands.

The factions

The BlackMoon

The BlackMoon is a religious faction, which is lead by Lord Haazheel Thorn, a powerful wizard who is at the center of a cult, of which he is the idol. The Archmage draws its strength from the prayers of his followers. Gifted with a prodigious memory and fed by a network of indicators scattered to the four corners of the kingdom, he is the greatest threat to the Empire. Haazheel Thorn’s army consists of a multitude of creatures, wizards and savage warriors. The Archmage can count on the support of Wismerhill, Baron of Moork who rallied his troops, at least for the time being…

The Empire

The Empire is the largest military force in the kingdom, although The Black Moon holds forces that threaten its omnipotence. The backbone of the kingdom lies in Lhynn, the capital. The Alliance is headed by emperor Haghendorf the 1st which is a powerful warrior, a brave Dragoner which maintains its authority in a world of jackals, where conspiracy and treachery are common.

The Order of Light

The Religious Order of Light is traditionally the main ally of the empire, although in these troubled times its loyalty is crumbling. The seat of government of the faction lies in Althenberg, a fortress that has been deemed impregnable. It is governed by Frater Sinister, which seems more interested in taking advantage of the situation than to support Haghendorf.

The Knights of Justice

The Knights of Justice is a noble religious faction of fighters whose main city is Sysigie. They fight with valour, according to the oath they have lent to the code of chivalry. Their dedication to Haghendorf is unwavering, although recognition is not forthcoming. Parsifal, the commander of the Knights, is a courageous man whose art of battle is rivalled only by his bravery. The face of this warrior has a cold pigmentation and his son is a polymorph dragon-man, which adds to the mystery of the famous warlord.
