Kingdom Under Fire II Title Update: New Heroine of Kingdom Under Fire Universe, Isabella
Since the in-game trailer for Kingdom Under Fire II surfaced, there has been a huge buzz about this upcoming sequel, which is returning to the original tradition of Action Real-time Strategy (or “ARTS”) that first began its fame with Kingdom Under Fire: The Crusaders. The game play revealed in the trailer was indeed remarkable that truly showcased how massive and realistic battles can be as thousands of units were displayed on screen simultaneously. Not only to the loyal fans of the predecessors, but also those who have never had their hands on the series, these new screenshots captured directly from a work-in-progress build for PC Online version will offer an opportunity to understand the scope of game play.
As expected, there are an impressive number of units in almost all of them, even thousands in some screenshots. In addition to the basic infantrymen and archers shown months ago, the new screens reveal new types of units like the cavalry or orc riders, the Dark Legion’s equivalent of the cavalry, not to mention some giant scorpions, too. In the previous trailer, wyverns were threatening the solider of the Human Alliance, but this time, we see some bomber-wings (the flying balloons), showering cannonballs on the orcs as if wanting to get their revenge. On top of these flying units, in the sky afar, there is another mysterious floating ship that looks distinctively different and gigantic. Interestingly enough, it has oars instead of a massive balloon that should be there. Unlike other units, there is only one of this kind, and it looks important with its unique appearance. So, we can see that most of the units from the predecessors are returning as well as some new ones making their first appearance. Another feature mentioned on the game’s website is Castle Siege Mode, and the walls in these screenshots are part of such a castle. One can only imagine what spectacular battles players will experience playing this game.
And the last but not the least, we see a new hero being introduced; an elven-warrior with silver hair. Believe it or not, she is a Dark-elf, and an albino one at that! She is one of the prominent leader figures of ‘Kaedes,’ the Dark-elf resistance group that overthrew their former vampire masters. It can be assumed that she must have gone through much alienation from her fellow Dark-elves, and who knows what she had to go through to establish herself as a respected leader of her people. As cold-blooded as she appears, Isabella specializes in using ice magic and freezes anything gets in her way.
Kingdom Under Fire II is on full-throttled train heading for PC Online first, arriving on consoles shortly after.
