the spacetanks-project was started in 2002 by stefan & jens with the know-how and the ideas and stamina to rock the world of 2d gaming. after a few months hard work they had constructed their own 2d-opengl-game-engine with 3d-components and pixel-exact collision. as the engine got better & better, christian did some net and soundwork. flosch did the support coding. the former c=64 demo-group "yawthrust" was 75% reunited with a new member (jens on grafix) we found ourselves again! morphed into a pc-software laboratory.
about the game: a small galaxy with grotesque beings, everyone is bored with skirmishing all day. So these tank-guys decide to build new ammunition........... enough to bomb each other into oblivion!
their problem: gravity! Suns, black holes, asteroid rings, atmospheric resistance, enemy obstacles placed on your own planet and (as if that`s not enough!) there are aliens, astro zombies, space creatures and other horrors waiting just for you!!
PS about 3d: who wants to be the second on the sun?..(greetings!..jens)
