Installing: Requirements: Serious Sam: The Second Encounter v1.07 (NOTE: OTHER VERSIONS WILL NOT WORK) To install BTBA, just extract the file ( btba_pb1.zip ) with Winzip/Winrar or similiar tool to the Mods folder inside your SS installation ( example: C:Program FilesCroteamSerious Sam - The Second EncounterMods ). You must extract it so that all the files are extracted with the folder information, otherwise it will not work. After that you can start Serious Sam just like you do it normally, and select BTBA from the Mods list in main menu. Playing: The most noticable limitation is that after a game has started, no more players can join. This means that when you start a server, you have to wait untill your friends join, and after that everyone must press use (E by default) for the game to start. If you want more players to join, you will have to restart the server and wait again. Other things that you might want to notice: -To access menus, hold TAB (default key for scoreboard) and use number keys from 1 to 4. -Some vehicles have different weapons, you can change weapons with number keys. -Manipulator can be used in many ways. You can land with it, climb with it, you can flip your vehicles with it or tear other vehicles into pieces. Also note that it has two modes, pull and push, both have their uses. -Magnet mines are also very useful weapons. In 'attract' mode they can be very destructive traps, in 'repel' mode they can turn your car into a rocket or crush your enemies instantly. Troubleshooting: It doesn't work? Choices are: 1. You don't have the correct version. Uninstall and reinstall SS:SE and apply only this patch: Second Encounter USA Patch 1.07. 2. Your SS installation is somehow corrupt. Reinstall SS:SE and apply only this patch: Second Encounter USA Patch 1.07. 3. You didn't install it correctly. Do as told in the beginning of this page. 4. It doesn't like you. Sorry, can't do anything. Known bugs: If you get a CRC error, the server and all clients must restart SS. Fatal error if you try to join a server that is already playing. It seems there are a bunch of crashes happening to people. If you are one of them and you are very angry, please find SeriousSam.rpt file which is located in SSBin folder (example C:Program FilesCroteamSerious Sam - The Second EncounterBin) and send it to asko@cad-creations.net or alternatively come to irc.gamesurge.net and DCC it to asko.
