G2 Interactive has launched the official website for Fighter Ops, offering info and screenshots (available also in our gallery) from this upcoming flight-sim powered by X-Plane engine. Fighter Ops will be released in several modules. The first module will focus on Pilot training with an extremely realistic simulation of the USAF UPT and IFF pilot training courses to a level never before attempted on a PC flight simulation. Soon to follow the training package release will be the combat aircraft, beginning with the F-16 C/D, F-15E Strike Eagle, F-15 C/D and the A-10. Each aircraft will be meticulously detailed; they will include a very comprehensive and fully functional 3D high resolution cockpit with symbology inherent to each platform.
Fighter Ops Powered by the X-plane Engine! G2interactive has teamed with Laminar Research to power the Fighter Ops Combat Flight Simulation and bring new never before seen features to the Hyper Realistic Combat Flight Simulation arena. This partnership includes G2Interactive purchasing the core X-Plane Simulation Engine which will allow Fighter Ops to immediately take over as the leader in Combat PC based simulation technology. This code base will be owned by G2Interactive Inc and provides the opportunity to develop Fighter Ops into the exact simulation that the community wants for many years to come...without any restrictions, time constraints or bureaucracy. X-Plane will continue to lead the Professional Civilian Flight Simulation market and continue to provide their users with the most realistic experience possible in a Civilian Simulator. G2interactive will not be using the X-Plane flight model as the G2I Team has developed their own Flight Model which is better suited to high performance military combat aircraft. This new capability will empower Fighter Ops to be visually leaps and bounds ahead of any competition thanks to a completely custom built Terrain Engine and Dedicated Custom High Resolution graphics. These features are not only visually accurate but are also location accurate within 1 meter resolution and in many “High Value Areas”, even better. The Teaming Agreement between Laminar Research and G2interactive is sure to produce a unique combat flying environment and an new level of immersion for the simulation pilot. With bold new features like Multi-Monitor Support, Complete Electrical, Hydraulic, Pneumatic and Mechanical Monitoring & Failures, Real Weather Support, Spherical World Modeling (no more flat flying areas), Over 22,000 Airports with their correct VOR & ILS modeling, Realistic ATC, Ground, Tower, Departure, Center, FAC, etc...and much more.
