Epic Games has released for a new update for Linux version of Unreal Tournament 2003 bringing this game to v2225.3. This will patch the game client and the dedicated server from the original version that came on 3 CD-ROM discs (press 'read more' for list of changes/fixes). Thanks: 3DGamers.   • This patch brings the retail version of Unreal Tournament 2003 for GNU/Linux to build 2225.3. This will patch the game client and the dedicated server from the original version that came on 3 CD-ROM discs. This patch will NOT update the the freely-downloadable version of the dedicated server, nor will it update the freely-downloadable demo version. It will also not update the various Win32, MacOS X, or x86-64 versions. This is for 32-bit x86 GNU/Linux and compatible platforms only. ========================================================= Making the game feel more like the original UT: - upgrade to this patch, and install the bonuspack - use the UTClassic mutator - use small weapons (Settings|Player menu) - set FOV to 90 (Settings|Player menu) - use the Evil Announcer from the bonus pack (set the announcer voice in the Settings|Audio menu) - install the BrightPlayerSkins mod (client side only) ========================================================= CHANGES: Between 2225 and 2225.3: - All sorts of Unix, OpenGL, OpenAL, etc related fixes from the MacOS X port. - Built with gcc3. - Several bogus memory access fixes. - OpenAL and libSDL updated to UT2004 versions. - Closed security hole with GameSpy "secure" packet buffer overflow.
