We now have the official minimum system requirements for DOOM 3 (thanks: Blues): 1.5-gigahertz Intel Pentium 4 chip or AMD Athlon 1500, 384 megabytes of memory, two gigabytes of hard drive space, an nVidia GeForce 3 graphics card or better or an ATI Technologies 8500 or better. If you're still keeping a GeForce 2MX/4MX and an older Pentium III in your PC, now's the time for an upgrade and here are a few tips. The ideal rig would include a 3GHz Intel Pentium 4 or a 3000+ AMD Barton, 1GB of RAM, a 6800 or X800 GPU based video card, the latest sound card from Creative (Audigy 2 ZS), a Western Digital Raptor (or 2 in a RAID setup), a DVD drive and the best peripherals money can buy (keyboard/mouse). A nice 19" monitor supporting a decent resolution at a higher refresh rate is a must also. I know that paying for all these could kill your summer holiday plans, but we're talking DOOM 3 here, right?
