We have three more trailers for F.E.A.R. 2 Project Origin, showcasing this videogame sequel to the hit game F.E.A.R., developed by Monolith Productions. F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin tells the story of an escalating paranormal crisis that threatens to destroy a major American city. At the center of the calamity is the mysterious Alma, whose rage against those who wronged her triggered a chain of events that have spiraled completely out of control. Now that she has free reign, the consequences will be unimaginable. F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin will be available on February 10, 2009 in North America and February 13, 2009 in Europe.

The Godfather II Key to Success Trailer

Electronic Arts has released a new trailer from The Godfather II, showcasing this action sequel in the works at EA Redwood Stores studio for PC, Xbox 360 and PS3. After being promoted by Michael Corleone to Don of New York, players expand to new cities, as they build up their families through extorting businesses, monopolizing illegal crime rings and defeating new families in an effort to become the most powerful mob family in America. To help players manage their empire, The Godfather II introduces "The Don's View" – an innovative strategy meta-game that allows players to oversee the entire world as they grow the family business. Using the Don's View, players will be able to build, defend and expand their crime rings, while keeping an eye on the movements and plans of the rival families. Players will also learn to master the business of organized crime by building a family of Made Men, hiring crew, handing out orders, and promoting their best men up the ranks. The Godfather II will hit the store shelves in February 2009.

Cursed Mountain Trailer #2

Deep Silver has released the second trailer from Cursed Mountain a survival horror game for the Nintendo Wii set to be available in 2009. Cursed Mountain is using the Athena game engine which is rendering the Himalayas on Wii at a quality never seen before. The engine highlights of Athena include amongst others, HDR-Rendering, shader simulations developed especially for Wii in order to display ice, heat and water (realistic reflections and refractions), an ultra-fast particle system for snow storms, soft particles, realistic fog and smoke, depth of field, motion blur, dynamic soft shadows, spherical harmonics lighting, as well as a high performance level-of-detail and streaming system in order to provide long viewing distance of the entire surrounding.

SEGA has released a video dev diary for Alpha Protocol, an espionage role-playing game set in the modern world in the works at Obsidian Entertainment. The main character in Alpha Protocol, Thorton, a talented young agent cast out by his government, is the only one with the information needed to stop an impending international catastrophe. To do so means he must cut himself off from the very people he is sworn to protect. As players determine how to accomplish different objectives, the decisions made and actions taken in each mission will ultimately transform the type of secret agent Michael Thorton will become. Every choice the player makes as Michael Thorton will carry consequences for his future and the fate of the world. Alpha Protocol will be available on February 17 2009, for PC, Xbox 360 and PS3.

Black Mesa (formerly Black Mesa: Source) is a Half-Life 2 total conversion remaking Valve Software's PC game, Half-Life. Utilizing the Source engine, Black Mesa will reintroduce the player as Doctor Gordon Freeman, along with the original cast of memorable characters and environments seen in Half-Life. Black Mesa was founded to fully reconstruct the Half-Life universe utilizing Source to its fullest potential in terms of art detail, level sizes and code features. This total conversion will not require Half-Life: Source to play - only a copy of any Source Engine game installed on Steam.

Blue Dragon Plus Official Website Launched

Ignition Entertainment has announced the launch of the official website of Blue Dragon Plus, a Nintendo DS game in the works at AQ Interactive and directed by Hironobu Sakaguchi. Currently a top-rated show on Cartoon Network in the U.S., the story of Blue Dragon centers on a young boy named Shu and several of his friends who possess the ability to control phantom shadows that mirror the actions of their masters.
