DreamCatcher Games to Publish Pax Romana on PC-CD An Epic Strategic and Political Battle for the Roman Empire Toronto, Canada - September 4th 2003. DreamCatcher Games today announced that it will publish Pax Romana on PC-CD. Developed by Galiléa, Dreamcatcher Games has global rights for the title*. Pax Romana is an historical strategy game set in ancient Rome, designed by the creators of Europa Universalis. There are two sides to this epic game – political and strategic. The strategic side is very much a battle of cunning and well-planned military tactics, whereas the political side involves the manipulation of senators and generals alike, as politicians seek to gain military and financial power. Fans of the political side of the game take on the role of characters such as Caesar, Pompey or Crassus and lead their factions into 40 different political and military scenarios. Both sides to the game require sharp wits and the ability to manipulate one’s peers, especially in the multi-player version. The game features an intelligent and intuitive interface with five real time game speeds and multiplayer functionality for up to 6 players. The game’s depth and accuracy is phenomenal, with 6 different political factions and dozens of opponents; an historically accurate reproduction of Rome's political, economical and military aspects, and a huge map with 400 regions, with 5 levels of zoom. Furthermore, gamers face more than 100 different military units with discipline, morale and experience levels and take part in nearly 150 historical events Ultimately the victor is the player who uses his political influence, wealth or military force to become the leader of Rome – and then only if Rome herself is victorious! Pax Romana has an ESRB ‘Rating Pending’ at time of press and will ship on November 4th 2003.
