ENCORE SHIPS WILDLIFE PARK PC game challenging players to create and manage a wild animal park expected on store shelves this week Los Angeles, CA - November 13, 2003 - Encore, a majority-owned subsidiary of Navarre Corporation (NASDAQ: NAVR), today announced that WildLife Park, a unique life simulation game where players get to build the ultimate wildlife preserve, has begun shipping. The PC game, co-published by Encore with content delivered from Austria-based JoWooD Productions Software AG, is anticipated on store shelves in major retail outlets later this week, and will retail for approximately $20. Carrying an "E" rating, WildLife Park is designed for those ages 12 and older. Said Andreas Tobler, CEO of JoWooD Productions Software AG, "In creating WildLife Park, we focused on building an environment where animals can wander freely and socialize with each other more naturally than in any zoo. The game is very realistic, with 45 species of mammals, marine life and birds, as well as a wide range of terrains and climates." Creating an ever-changing virtual wild animal world In WildLife Park, players create their own wildlife preserve, beginning with only the park area, a ticket booth and money. Instead of building cages, they design natural habitats in 20 different terrains and climates ranging from the desert to the tropics. Then they can enhance these environments by adding ponds, waterfalls, bridges, trees and buildings with architecture appropriate to the region. For marine animals, they can create underwater observation rooms, so that visitors can get up close and personal with sharks, whales and dolphins, to name a few. Players populate the worlds they've created with animals from around the globe -everything from bears, camels and chimpanzees to peacocks, penguins and kangaroos. They also hire employees who will care for the animals and perform the daily tasks needed to keep the park running smoothly and the animals healthy. Completing the game depends on successfully managing the park, keeping the animals happy, enticing visitors to return, and, ultimately, maintaining a profitable enterprise. Throughout the game, players will pick up interesting information about animal behavior in areas such as reproduction, socialization, aging, birth, aggression and trainability. They'll also learn about each animal's diet, stages of its life cycle, and what's needed to ensure that it thrives. Some of WildLife Park's features include: - 20 different terrains and climates that closely emulate the natural habitats of many animals - Open-ended game options - including applying effective park management, creating new attractions, maintaining the health of the animals, and adding exotic new animals - that result in different outcomes each time the game is played - 45 different species including mammals, reptiles, birds and marine life. Examples include bears, chimpanzees, dolphins, sharks, penguins, snakes, panthers, camels, zebras and raccoons - A detailed tutorial that offers tips and shortcuts - A variety of animal training devices including trampolines, ropes, slides and trees - Landscape design options such as trees, shrubs, bridges, ponds, rivers, waterfalls and buildings - 10 different professions to care for the animals and the park
