GRAPHICS CARDS: Regardless of whether you choose OpenGL or Direct3D in the RoboForge Options screen, you still need to install DirectX 8 (unless you run Windows NT). RoboForge works well with most 8meg and greater Graphic Cards that support OpenGL (Ensure that you have the latest Drivers for your card) For all Voodoo cards we recommend that you use the DirectX version of RoboForge (in Options). RoboForge will not work with 3D only cards. This applies specifically to Voodoo 1 and 2 cards. DIRECTX Who should use DirectX Graphics Mode? People using Voodoo based graphics cards or Windows 2000 should switch to DirectX for best performance and reliability. HOW TO RUN ROBOFORGE UNDER DIRECTX 1/ If you're uncertain of your DirectX version or have a version less than DirectX8, download and install DirectX 8. http://www.microsoft.com/directx/homeuser/downloads/default.asp 2/ Start roboforge. 3/ From the main screen click options. 4/ Click video options. 5/ Click Direct X radio button. 6/ Click the ‘save preferences and exit’ button. KNOWN BUGS/ISSUES SPECIFIC TO DIRECTX. - Fog in the battle player is not visible - Some text clips in the battle player. NOTE: If you have a Voodoo 1 / Voodoo 2 and another 2D/3D card DirectX will use the primary display to run D3D. ALSO: It is strongly recommended that you download the latest drivers for your graphics card. Many crashes/bugs disappear when the latest drivers are applied.
