April Fools 2011 List

1. We have several April Fools trailers for the following games: Overgrowth, Guild Wars 2, Duke Nukem Forever, Saints Row: The Third, Might & Magic Heroes VI and Faxion Online.

2. Gaijin Entertainment today announced World of Planes, a brand new, massive online game focused on flight simulation in the World War II era.

3. NinjaBee has announced that it released a patch today that unlocks the long-missing combat in A World of Keflings, turning your avatar's peaceful tiny helpers into raging 'Deathlings'.

4. CD Projekt RED announced today THE BARD: Saviors of Queens which "will focus on the adventures of an undisclosed poet whose name is yet to be determined". The game's website is now live - a trailer and a video dev diary are now locally mirrored.

5. After years of extensive research, ASTRO Gaming announced exclusive limited edition pre-orders for "The Gold Edition", a line of products that have been created using solid 22K gold. "22K gold delivers the ultimate in ultra-premium gaming performance, helping you outshine the competition literally and figuratively."

6. Haypi Co. Ltd. today announced an upcoming round of updates for the iPhone/iPod/iPad MMOG, Haypi Kingdom. Along with improvements to optimize game quality, new features also include support in ten new languages, added retina screen support and the new ability to wage alliance wars to occupy gold-mines. 7. Paradox Interactive announced that their upcoming roleplaying strategy game King Arthur II is now known as King Arthur II: Vietnam. "The change comes after receiving overwhelmingly positive reactions to the announcement of Magicka: Vietnam."

8. NGames today unveiled some gameplay modes on offer in their anime MMO, Pockie Ninja. "While cooling down from the Naruto/Bleach inspired battles, players can explore the wilderness for rare items, take part in group/solo quests, capture powerful pets, take part in smashing (literally!) lotteries, synthesize items, and more!"

9. Sony Computer Entertainment has announced the Xperia PLAY from Sony Ericsson launching later this month - details here.

10. Now, men can test their game-day skills in the Keep Your Grip Challenge, a new online football game created by Vaseline MEN, a line of non-greasy hand and body lotions - more info here.

11. On April 3rd, Hasbro will launch MY3D, a unique handheld viewer which allows users to attach their iPhone or iPod touch and immerse themselves in a 3D entertainment experience - details here.

12. Egosoft announced that the story of Squiddy McSquid is set to make it to the silver screen in a movie called Nautilus - a trailer is now locally mirrored.

13. GameStop has announced the acquisition of Spawn Labs, a streaming technology company. In addition, GameStop announced it has entered into an agreement to purchase Impulse, a subsidiary of Stardock Systems - the Impulse acquisition is subject to customary closing conditions and is expected to close in May 2011 - more info here.

14. X-Rated Studios announced today that its inaugural project will be an interactive video game experience aimed at the adult market and based on ancient Hindu text the Kama Sutra. With a working title of Kama Sutra: Connected, the game will offer practical advice on sexual intercourse and behaviour, but instead of dry text and illustrations.

15. Phantom EFX has unveiled Battle Slots, a quest-based slot game for PC and consoles that will take players on a journey of exploration, allowing them to choose their own path in order to defeat the evil that has been plaguing the land. Equipped with a magical slot machine, it is your task to collect new and more powerful Slot Symbols, Attacks, Spells, and Runes as you level up and master the device to complete your journey and become the ultimate hero.

16. Remedy announced that their classic top down vehicular combat game from 1996, Death Rally, is now available for the iPad 2, iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch via Apple's App Store. Players start out with the trusty Vagabond, a reliable vehicle armed with a pea shooter. It's not the fastest, doesn't have the best handling or armor, yet it's just enough to survive the initial Death Rally. With each new bracket, Death Rally introduces more experienced opponents with faster cars and bigger guns looking to destroy anyone and everyone that gets in their way. Surviving and winning each race gives players more money to tune-up, repair, and upgrade their car. They can also upgrade to meaner guns and better cars to out drive and blow away the competition.

17. Gravity Interactive has announced a new update for Dragon Saga - alongside the new armors and recipes, players will be able to obtain all new costumes from the Big Wheel and MixBoard. "These new Dragon Saga Idol costumes will help players battle monsters or just hang out in town, but in STYLE. These costumes will be the latest fashion to hit the Port of Winds."

18. Grimoire Assembly Forge has announced five exclusive day-zero DLC (downloadable content) options for Dudebro II, a 3D top-down shooter scheduled to be available later this year, for PC and Mac.
