EON Digital Entertainment takes off with Airfix Dogfighter
The world-wide publishing deal was recently announced.
EON Digital Entertainment, London, Friday 14th July - EON Digital Entertainment, the progressive new games publishing operation formed by John Burns, today announced that it has won the rights to publish the much sought after title Airfix Dogfighter - due for release on PC in October of this year.
Developed by Swedish developers Paradox and UDS - best known for last year’s PlayStation title No Fear Downhill Mountain Biking published by Codemasters - Airfix Dogfighter is best described as a 3-D Action game. "Paradox entertainment is very happy to be working with EON on Airfix Dogfighter. We are confident that EON will be the perfect partner for us when it comes to marketing the product as well as building the franchise for interactive Airfix titles as a whole. The partnership with EON is a very good one for Paradox as they recognise the long-term values of the property and the team has a unique experience in marketing these products. This combined with a truly unique game I feel we have a very good launch to look forward to" says Paradox Entertainment President Nils Gulliksson.
The celebrated brand Airfix has manufactured the greatest plastic kits in the world for over fifty years, and their properties sold in the millions appeal to a massive selection of consumers.
Airfix Dogfighter creates a truly interactive play area which allows up to 8 players to engage in mind blowing warfare, by flying the Airfix war-orientated heavily armed planes into combat with enemy planes, tanks and destroying anything in your path. Airfix uses a beautiful and stunningly accurate, intuitive control system, which makes the game fun and easy to use. The game features numerous models such as Hurricanes and Spitfires.
‘EON Digital Entertainment is pursing some of the worlds leading developers and licenses. The combination of Paradox and Airfix has led to a stunning game using a globally recognized brand. I expect Airfix Dogfighter to generate significant consumer revenue and enjoyment,’ said John Burns, Eon Digital Entertainment’s Managing Director.
