  • WARS & WARRIORS: JOAN OF ARC - ADVANCED DEMO README Introduction This new Wars & Warriors: Joan of Arc demo showcases some of the most interesting and unique features that can be found in the retail version. The demo features one of the largest missions in the game, where Joan of Arc and the French forces meet with an impasse on their way to crowning the king of France. The entire northwestern region of France, near the Franco-Burgundian border, has been under control of a mercenary leader by the name of Perrinet Gressart, hired by the enemy forces to stave your advance as English and Burgundian troops reorganize themselves for one final assault on the king, who has entrusted his fate to you alone. Poorly equipped and vastly outnumbered, you and your French troops must nevertheless free the region of all mercenary presence. As mercenaries, their allegiance lies not with king or country, but with gold. Being warriors for hire, they can be bribed to serve your own purposes. However, your lack of gold will mean either taking on the enemy head-on in a bloodbath, or carefully exploring the enemy-occupied region, meeting villagers and accepting side quests that will earn you with the goods necessary to deal with the mercenaries on level terms. Infilitrate the mercenary stronghold of St-Pierre to recover goods mercilessly usurped from the innocent villagers of France. Deal devastating combos to mercenary troops armed with explosive crossbows as you scale the castles' walls. Make use of the land's natural resources to build siege machines to tear at the enemy's gates. Find the whereabouts of Perrinet Gressart, ruler of the mercenary forces within the labyrinthine monolith of La Charite, the largest castle that Joan would ever set her eyes on. Liberate the French countryside of the looming threat of encroaching enemy occupation once and for all. With two giant castles to conquer, camps to capture and townsfolk to liberate, this scenario will have you raising sieges as you command your units to tear down at the enemy's walls, leading your troops on multiple fronts through judicious RTS planning and tactics, and recovering looted gold that you can use to bribe mercenaries to wage war for your billing, turning the tide of war into a three-way melee between the Anglo-Burgundian forces, the mercenaries, and France!
