A playable demo of Galactic Federation is now available for download, announced us Radivoj Radivojevic, the creator of this space combat simulation expected to be released in June. "This demo have Geo Mod, powerfull dynamic damage model enabling realistic ship cuts, burntrougts and parts tearing. Ship to ship collision response is only partialy done, it doesnt have angular component yet. I'm planing to include spherical shields for the final release. You can now target ship subsystems and turrets. You can destroy turrets when ship is out of shield. To destroy ship you must destroy most of its subsystems. Guns now attenuate with time, it means when you hit target from minimum distance it will cause maximum damage, the longer the distance the smaller the damage until it disappear completly". Galactic Federation will be the next genearation space combat simulator. This demo is for testing purpose only, it's in early beta stage, and should be reviewed as unfinished project. Some textures and models in this demo does not represent one that may be included in actual game. The game features battles of large number of ships confronting at a time, one hundred of fighters and capital shipsfighting in a misison create spectacular atmosphere and give unique gaming experience. Game is built on an in house developed DirectX9 engine and possess dynamic geometry modification damage model which alows realistic ship cutting, burntrougths, hull piece choping, subsystem and turrets destoying ans so on... Full game will have campaign with over 30 action tense missions revealing epic story in an unknown part of the universe. Player can pilot over 20 fighters and bombers, and equip them with arrays of energy and projectile weapons from the fleet arsenal. Dynamic lighting has been added, as well as some planets and nebulas in the background. Explosions and particles are improved and shokwaves are now present. I'm working on campaign and model textures now, and the game should be finished soon. NOTES: You must have DirectX 9.0 instaled on your system in order to run this demo. To change display mode run GFSetup in the directory where you extracted the demo. You will get the list of compatible modes which directx reported available on your system. Choose mode from the list, set additional options and click Save. It will be saved in config.txt in the same folder for game to read. On the bottom of this file is a list of key functions for debuging and testing purposes only. They allow you to enable/disable collision tests, wireframe mode, change time speed, etc. Mission recording and playing are not available in this version.
