Dallas, TX – May 6th, 2004 – GMX Media announced today that it’s amazingly beautiful, critically acclaimed WWII air-combat game FirePower for the PC is now available at North American Retail outlets. One look and it’s clear that real world pilots and enthusiasts contributed to the creation of FirePower for Microsoft Combat Flight Simulator 3. Shockwave Productions has created what is arguably the most realistic WWII warbird simulator to date. The FirePower philosophy is about creating the most realistic air combat experience possible. This was accomplished by using authentic military test data and combat footage along with the input from over thirty real warbird pilots. Virtual pilots will experience the air war over Europe while flying one of 18 new aircraft in over 50 historical missions. The player will experience revolutionary, explosive, special effects with towering blasts, aircraft being torn in half, and smoke drifting thousands of feet above the battlefields. Under the hood, every aircraft, building, and vehicle will proportionally absorb damage when you unleash all of the newly designed weapons. Specific targets will require specific weapons to destroy, just like the real thing. You will also get to fly the famous B-17 Flying Fortress, “Memphis Belle,” man all of the gunner positions, and even attack bomber formations from the cockpit of some of Germany's most ingenious, flying machines. Shrapnel will fly, tanks will blow, and guns will shred their targets to pieces. In fact FirePower is so real, you may find all you ever do is attack anything that has the misfortune of crossing your sights.
