Mirage Interactive has released a new batch of screenshots (also available in our gallery) of Mortyr 2, showcasing its upcoming WWII FPS sequel.
World War II, 1944... Under pressure from Allied forces the Germans are in retreat on most fronts, the Reich is in decline and defeat looms. The Reich's leaders, desperately trying to salvage the situation, have assembled secret teams of scientists and engineers with one purpose in mind: to design and build ingenious and devastating weapons to defeat the Allies. The Allies have formed elite strike teams ready for rapid deployment by plane into those regions already infiltrated by agents on the ground. These men are well trained and determined all too aware that the fortunes of the world may be in their hands. This very night information is received from an agent in Norway... A few hours later and four paratroopers, led by Sven Mortyr, land in that very same region. This seems like a typical sweep'n'rescue mission, but things are never that simple. Very soon Sven finds himself betrayed, alone, and his only contact captured by the Nazis. Nevertheless, he decides to continue the mission. The game is divided into five chapters. As Sven crosses the Europe from North to South, he sees different environments, fights different Nazi troops and uses different armament - from typical WW2 weapons, to some experimental, yet fact-based, extremely lethal weapons like stationary rocket launchers, anti-tank rifles with exploding bullets or pneumatic poison gas rifles. The plot changes during the game, as it started as a single hit-and-fade mission, and ends with a frontal assault at a super weapon facility. The missions are varied, yet there are some general principles: There is always a lot of action. Most submissions may be finished in different ways, whether player prefers to charge, sneak or snipe. Sven is always outnumbered. He is a perfect soldier, but he is not bulletproof. Different enemies reveal different tactics. Do not expect to defeat them all the same!
