WarBirds 2004 has landed in Europe New planes / improved graphics / exciting events Munich, June 8 2004 WarBirds, the realistic online flight simulator for PC and Mac has just been updated. WarBirds 2004 lets you participate in the greatest airborne battles of WW II which can be practised alone or fought against human enemies over the internet. WarBirds 2004 adds improved graphics (3D cockpits for B17 and B24), new aircraft (the Japanese Mitsubishi J2M2 and J2M3) and a lot of tweaks, such as a better balanced Ki44 (this formerly deactivated aircraft is now available to all players). The J2M2, conceived as an interceptor, was first used in 1942. Due to technical and production problems only 500 J2M2's were built. In WarBirds 2004, the fast J2M2 with its superior weaponary is the dream of veteran pilots, while its flight model is very challenging. "By offering our loyal WarBirds community yet another set of aircraft to choose from, we are positive that WarBirds proves itself as the choice for everybody interested in historical airborne warfare and realistic flight simulators", says Carsten van Husen, Director Games International at Tiscali Games. To celebrate the arrival of WarBirds 2004, Tiscali Games hosts a historic event on June 19 2004, starting at 20:00 CET: "May 1940. The Wehrmacht has literally overrun Belgium, Luxembourg and Northern France. The new tactics of Blitzkrieg allowed German troops to advance quickly deep into enemy territory. British and French troops are held captive by the invaders at the beaches on Dunkirk. More than 300,000 soldiers are unprotected against German bombs. For the German Heeresleitung, capturing these experienced units would be a tremendous victory. The British army is dependent on these elite soldiers as well." Pre-registration is strongly recommended for this event. Players can choose between Axes and Allies, with different objectives (Allies: defense, Axes: attack) and different planesets. Participants can win a Saitek Cyborg Evo flightstick for maximum fun. WarBirds can be downloaded for free at www.warbirdseurope.com, where further information on the game and on the event can be found as well. WarBirds is free to play for two weeks. After this trial period has expired, a monthly subscription fee is required.
