1. Tencent Holdings Limited announced it has agreed to acquire a minority stake in US-based Epic Games - Epic will continue to operate independently and seek to further expand its game franchises across multiple platforms. The deal is expected to close within one month, subject to customary closing conditions. Terms of the investment were not disclosed.

2. InnoGames has launched a U.S.-specific version of the strategic browser game Grepolis. There, Americans can play together and belong to a distinct community within the island realms of the Aegean Sea - separate from the international English version of the title. Players can access this by visiting us.grepolis.com or clicking on the American flag on any of the Grepolis homepages.

3. Gravity Interactive has announced the start of the annual player versus player tournament for Ragnarok Online. Matches begin Saturday, June 23rd at 11 am Pacific, and will be broadcast live on the Ragnarok Online Twitch.tv channel.

4. Eutechnyx has launced officially licensed NASCAR avatars on the Xbox LIVE Marketplace - now, fans from around the world will be able to proudly display their loyalties throughout the Xbox LIVE universe. Available exclusively on Xbox 360, the avatar collection includes NASCAR Sprint Cup driver's uniforms, helmets and their world famous cars.

5. Railsimulator.com has announced that the next game in the Train Simulator series will incorporate Steam Workshop, which allows players to download user-created content. The Steam Workshop functionality will be fully integrated into the game so players can view and choose user-generated content via a seamless interface.

6. Responding to community feedback, Spacetime Studios announced that Dark Legends gameplay and mechanics have been reworked and renewed. For example, 3D missions no longer require energy to initiate, players gain Minions and unlock Allies by playing through campaigns, and Energy is now used to send acquired Allies on "jobs" which aid the player in various ways.

7. Kabam has acquired Wild Shadow Studios, creators of the indie game Realm of the Mad God, which combines action combat and role playing game depth with real-time co-op gameplay, and is now available to play for free on Kabam.com. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

8. Amazon.com has announced that developers can now submit apps for distribution this summer in the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Italy and Spain, with plans for further global expansion in the near future.
